What's the Wonder's condition?

We're boarding Wonder next week for EBPC. It's the last cruise before drydock and I'm curious what the general condition of the ship is. Things can get back-burnered before a major drydock (why paint a wall if it's coming down), but I'm hopeful the ship is looking great. Not that there's anything we can do about it, but would like to hear from anyone who's sailed recently on her and get their impressions.

We just recently sailed on the Wonder (July 25 - Aug 01) and she is in good shape. Even though she is going in for a refit, they were constantly painting, cleaning, pressure spraying, shampooing the carpets, etc. When in port they were even using a man-lift to wash windows. As a mechanic by trade, I can tell you from a professional stand point, Disney goes the extra mile to keep their ships up to snuff. Granted, it isn't perfect but, that doesn't slow them down. At all hours of the day and night rain or shine clean, paint and clean some more. If you got out your magnifying glass you could find some rust here and there. That should be expected from a salt water environment. There were no offensive odors or stains on the carpets and most everything was in good working order. Yeah, you could say that there were some minor wear areas on the teak wood hand rails on the Promenade deck outside and when there was an accident in Mickey's pool, the crew acted immediately to arrest the problem and get it back into working sanitary condition, even if it meant completely draining the pool. The Plexiglas walls are a bit cloudy but that should come as no surprise. Overall, I give them an A grading. She is not in absolute, like new pristine shape but for her age she is in fine shape. I have a warm spot in my heart for her as she is like a grand old lady from the hay day of turn off the century ocean liners.

Thank you. We are fond of the Wonder as well (this will be our 4th sailing on her.). I appreciate the report and am pleasantly surprised that your description is so glowing. Last autumn she looked a little worn - not shabby, just needing a bit of deep work - and I hoped she would still shine for this cruise. Appears she will.

We are just off the Wonder (8/8-8/15). It was our first cruise, so we have no comparison. I'd say looking worn in spots--but very clean. There are constantly people working on keeping the Wonder up--every time we used the stairs there was someone cleaning the railings. We saw people steaming carpets often. People cleaning bathrooms all the time. In port, the outside was getting sprayed down. Our room (2116) did have a tile come loose on the bathroom floor. We mentioned it to our stateroom host one day when we were in port and it was fixed by the time we were back on the ship. I will say that the walls of our room could use a painting as they looked dirty...and as my daughter sat on our bed and put her sneaker on the wall to tie her shoes...I think I know 'how' the wall got that way--she's obviously not the first to do that. We really had no issues with how the Wonder looked.

See you there!!
Did you know our cruise is sold out? I'm shocked.

We were in the wonder last december and march and definitely noticed that she needs a refurbishment. That being said, the ship was very clean and that's what's important. You will have a great trip!
