What's the story with Garden Grill? Can't get in at all!

We're not going until December (19th) but I cannot get a reservation all week for any time (I know they only serve dinner) at the Garden Grill. When did it become so popular, and is there a secret to getting an ADR here? (Not really interested in Candlelight Processional.)

Thank you!!

I've never seen that happen! I've booked for the Character Dinner at GG just a couple months ahead of time with no problem! I wonder if either a) they haven't completely opened the rezies that far out or b) if because they are now only doing dinner, it's just filling up faster!

It has gotten popular again. Especially now that it is dinner only. It's one of the few places you can see Chip & Dale, which for my family is a big win.

I have been trying too. We are arriving the 19th as well. I have never tried the Garden Grill and decided this time we would but I am unable to find anything open at all. I'm thinking maybe once they open the candlelight processional packages maybe people will cancel regular reservations.

Fingers crossed!

I have been trying Garden Grill for quite a while for the first week in December. I was told it was because of the Candlelight Processional. I don't know if that means they haven't opened all tables or if it means a lot of people booked hoping to be switched to a CP package???

maybe the garden grill we be added to the CP???

I tried on june 25th and a few time son line and nada.. Actually the CM had a hard time even finding it..

I actually figured it was being closed for renovations or something..

People most likely have already booked the tables that are currently open. Since Garden Grill is one of the locations for the Candlelight Processional, there are tables being held back. Thus, there was a limited number of tables open for other bookings.

For our Oct. trip our ADR's were booked at the 180+ 10, I got Le Cellier and other hard to get times with no problem. No availability for Garden Grill though, have tried off and on every week since with no luck.

I booked the Garden Grill for 11/22 about a week ago. Someone must have canceled, so I got (very) lucky. :goodvibes

I tried calling yesterday to see if they had any later availability and CM Mary Ann told me that many of the timeslots are currently held for CP, as others have mentioned. This is the case for a bunch of other Epcot TS restaurants, including Le Cellier and Coral Reef.

I have been trying to get Garden Grill also, and nothing. It seems weird that I was able to get into Le Cellier, but can't do the Grill:confused3:

Garden grill was the first character meal we took our boys to. It is still our favorite. Good luck with your reservations. Just keep checking back.

In 2007 and 2008, Garden Grill was very easy to get. In fact, in July 2007, we decided to eat there a 2nd time, we enjoyed it so much, and I called to try and get an ADR for the next day, and I was able to pick any time I wanted.

But, for 2009 and for our trip this Aug, could not get anything.

I'm guessing with it only being open for dinner, they essentially cut the availability in half. So, demand for GG is about the same, but only half the supply. Result: GG is one of the hardest ADRs to get.

Ok, what is the candelight processional?

I was able to get a GG reservation in Oct, then had to switch nights in Epcot, so I'm seeking out a different night and I luckily got a 4:20, but I really need a later reservation. After reading this, I think I should just be lucky to get any reservation!

My original dates were the first week of December and Garden Grill was full the entire time. I switched to the first week of September and there was decent availibility almost every day of my trip. And this was booking 4 weeks out!
It has to have something to do with the CP.

Candlelight processional would have no impact during Oct. It is a special program done during the Christmas season (late Nov - Christmas) at Epcot. Specific restaurants do a reserved seating at the show with a meal there, but it is a special package that has to be booked. Since they don't start booking until there is a more solid list of celebrity narrators, they hold seats for when the package opens.
