What's the scoop on Skylander's at TRU on 3/21?

We saw an ad for Skylanders in a week ago Sunday TRU ad and we stupidly went to the store thinking that if they are advertising for them, they would actually have a decent supply--all we found were signs saying to come back on 3/21 when they will have single packs available. Does anybody really know if they will have them? I asked a salesperson at TRU the other day and she said they hoped they would have them. DS has literally been counting the days since we saw that sign and even just now said that this week is not so great except for Wednesday when TRU will have their Skylander's (and the green ninja will apparently be revealed on Ninjago)!

This kid is living for this. I would hate to get there and find nada.

Does anybody know any more?

PS - last Sunday we saw the ad for Legendary Trigger Happy. We didn't make it to the store--just curious if they would have that one available or is it all gone?

They sell quickly, so they may be holdign their stock back for this event. If they were on the shelves now they probably wouldn't have any when the sale came.

My kids really want this too! We just bought the starter game set last week, and I didn't realize the single things were this popular/hard to get...should I be at TRU at opening to snag some of these single packs, or is this something that only people who camp out the night before will get?

Yes, you will have to be at the store before theyopen. Quantity will be very limited and it may be one per person. There should be an email coming out overnight tonight will the details.

Ok...well, since it seems everywhere I've checked is out of them...and Target even had a sign saying 2 per customer max and a pp on this thread said there would probably be a one per person max at TRU tommorrow (thanks for the info! )...I've been checking out ebay. I know it will be more expensive, but it might save my sanity a bit. I have 4 kids, so a "one per customer" (since I will be the only one going--I'd only be able to buy 1) policy will be rough.

I've found a seller that seems to have great feedback, but all the ones he is selling are "loose", without original packaging. His item description says it includes the unused code, sticker, card and character. Why would he have so many "loose" ones for sale? He has a lot, of all different characters...and his feedback shows he has sold a lot too...Are there big multi packs that he is breaking up and selling individually or something? Any thoughts/insight? I don't really know much about these skylander things and just don't want to buy something my kids won't be able to use!

My husband is obsessed with these! He even opened the box of legendary figures I order for my son’s birthday in April.

We were are TRU on Saturday and one of the CS guys in the electronics department said to call the store after 7 AM on the 21st to make sure they had received a shipment. If they had, the store manager would be able to confirm that they were on the shelves and ready to sell. At that point, we would need to be at the store no later than 9 AM and hit the “TRU Rope Drop”! We will see if DH is that dedicated. He completely blew the February budget buying these things…

Bascially since Christmas I have not been able to find Skylanders in stock ANYWHERE!!! It is extremely aggravating. I had bought my son the starter kit and a decent amount of figures for Christmas. He has since beaten the game, but wants more figures b/c different guys do different things. Every time we are in any store he looks and the hooks are always empty.

Amazon has a few in stock for $7.99. I grabbed Flameslinger and Chop Chop. They jad a couple others too.

The ones coming out tomorrow, are they new characters, or just new shipments of characters that are out already?

Amazon has restocked some this morning. You have to flip through all the characters to see which are $7.99. I was able to grab Cynder this morning.

I ended up buying stealth elf and Drobot on ebay (those were the two my kids were asking for the most!). I didn't get gouged too bad--about $9 each plus $6 for shipping...

But I went to TRU this morning and they had plenty of both of those, so that was a bit of a bummer. Oh well.

I ended up buying Ignitor, Hex, Bash, a 3 pack (Whirlwind, doubletrouble, Drill Sergeant) and an adventure pack (It has Ghost Roaster in it--that's another one my kids were asking for).

This is sad...I'm starting to get obsessed with them too now, and I don't even play the video game!

We're having a hard time here too. I just keep checking online and when someone has them in stock I buy them. I know some of the originals have already been retired and people are getting a fortune for them on ebay.

We have been very lucky and dedicated, and have gotten all that are currently out including all the legendary figures. We are now waiting, rather impatiently, for the next round to hit.

Our TRU opens at 10:00. I got there at 9:50 and there were about 50 people outside, waiting to get in. An employee came down the line giving out tickets. They were only allowing 2 per person. I got a TRU Legendary Trigger Happy (TRU exclusive). They also had Whilwind, Chop Chop and a couple more, but I already have them.
They can't keep up with demand, is what I've been told. Wait til next fall when they come out with the Giant Skylanders! lol
