I'm really curious about Chefs de France. UG totally pans it and I haven't been able to find too much about on the DIS. The menu looks really interesting. So my question is... Is Chef de France worth it? Thanks in advance for all opinions. :goodvibes

I have eaten here 3 times so far- lunch x 2, dinner once.
We have ADRs for our January trip planned as well.

DH & I really enjoy Chefs de France. We like the atmosphere, the menu- all of it.
I tried escargot here for the first time - and found out I really like it!
My favorite entree is the braised short ribs. Yum!!

I definitely think it is worth it. :thumbsup2

Chefs is one of our favorites, and is a "must do" on every trip.

another chefs supporter here. love the escargot, and always have had a good steak there.

Chefs de France is probably the best in park dining experience in Disney and well worth the price! The menu is very interesting and well executed and every item on it is sure to be impressive (be sure to try their Escargo!). They also have a nice, though overpriced wine list with some very good vintages on it. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful experience there and not be disappointed.

We love it! I highly recommend the quiche, and my children swear by the macaroni au gratin. Needless to say, the onion soup is fantastic, as well. Its one of our family traditions on our last day to eat lunch at Chefs de France, then ride Spaceship Earth and go home.

Loved it - though I much preferred a late lunch when the restaurant was empty to a crowded peak time dinner. Both experiences had great food and good service.

Could anyone please mention what main dish they like here? My DD loves steak and I wanted a change from Le Cellier: preferring the steak at Kona. Thanks:flower3:

They have a filet of beef with a pepper sauce that is very nice. I personally enjoy the beef short ribs, obviously very different than a steak but it's a wonderful beef dish. My wife really enjoys the scallop and shrimp dish.

Wow, you very are brave to eat French food and then go on MS -- green or orange? :rotfl2:

Loved MS -- only did green but might try orange with DH this time -- he loved it :thumbsup2 Also trying Chefs de France this trip -- really looking forward to it (the inside looked pretty and elegant when we walked past last year, and the menu looks delicious). But...I think I'll go on MS first...

Edited to add: OHHHHHHHHHH....SPACESHIP EARTH. That's different. Never mind. :lmao: :rotfl2:

We have eaten at Chef's de France four times. We are eating lunch here on our August trip. Last year we had a problem with my daughters steak (very tough)but the manager took it off of the bill for us. We are not letting one bad experience stop us from trying it again.

We love the atmosphere and my daughter likes it because she is studying french in school. She tries to have a small conversation with the waiter. I have had the steak and it has been good, except as stated above. Onion soup is great. I plan on trying the short ribs this time. I would definately recommend Chef's.

We ate there in April and loved it...was a last minute change and they fit us right in at 5:30. Had a nice table by the windows. Full pictures and reviews are in my signature...the food was awesome!

Thanks for all the great replies. You have all reassured me that we will certainly eat at Chef de France in February 2009. DH loves escargot, but I'm not that adventurous. :thumbsup2

On our last trip, DH and the kids were starving. We walked past England, but there wasn't anything that DS wanted (was insiting on grilled cheese!)

We walked up to Chef's at 12:30. They sat us right away, and when DS told the waiter all he wanted was grilled cheese, that's what he brought him, even though it's not on the menu. All of us enjoyed our lunch. I had the French menu, DH had the crepes and DD had the quiche. We also started with the bacon & onion flat bread which was to die for!!!

It's the only place we're going back to again for our upcoming adults only trip. Enjoy it! It's a great meal!

Luckily, she goes on Spaceship Earth, not Mission: Space. ;)

I have never eated at Chefs de France, but am considering it for our next vacation.

We also enjoyed it very much and cannot wait to go back again. The food is great and the service is fantastic. They were able to accomodate us when we mixed up our ADR time the day after XMas. We had the CP package and they were able to get us in an hour late, not rush us through dinner, and out in time for the show. It was fantastic and the manager there was outstanding.

We love it too, and the kids do too. DS claims they have the best "burger" in the world.
