What's the oldest age you've used a stroller?

I think I was 43 or 44 the last time I used a stroller. DS was four or five...

Last December when the kids were 5 & 8 we went to USO and we took one stroller. My 5 yo rode in it quite a bit, my 8 yo didn't ride in it at all. Both of my kids are small for their age. My now 6 yo is only about 50 lb. and my 9 yo only has a few lbs. on him if any, though he's taller. In Feb. we plan on taking one stroller again. My parents and grandma are going along as well so even if the kids don't use it much, it will come in handy for carrying the stuff. We use a Chico Echo (umbrella type) which they both still fit in fine and has a basket under. We will only use it when going into the parks for longer periods of time too, like on our pool day, we plan on doing MSEP after dinner, probably won't take it along for that or when we go to DTD etc.

If I remember correctly, six was the highest age we used a stroller.

But I will judge no one at Disney. Strollers, wheelchairs, ECV's...do what you need to do to be comfortable. I strapped a pedometer on one year and wow, did we put on the miles. (We're park commandos.)

Will have two single strollers for 7 and 4 y.o. The 7 y.o. Has flat feet which was recently diagnosed which explained her years of complaining of foot pain, we had no idea!!! I feel guilty for telling her the last three years to walk like a big girl when she had a real problem. :(

Age 5 for 2 of my 3 kids, the oldest walked at 4 1/2, long before I knew about these boards and it didn't even cross my mind, first trip for the kids. None of my kids are athletes, I can safely say that with them now 20, 16, and 10, lol, and they never complained even in July/August heat.

We have made 2-3 trips a year since our daughter was 3; she is now 13. We stopped using the stroller when she turned 5. But when we were there in the fall and she was 6, she had a real bad asthma attack due to the flower and garden festival. It was early in the morning, after we spent most of the day in our room it was actually my husband that said let's rent a stroller for the next day - it was Epcot day. We only used it that one day, the next she refused and said she was fine and not 4 anymore. At 13 she jokingly asks to rent a double and let her ride in it. Not happening, she is five foot three and 120 pounds. :)

Not talking about anyone with a disability, medical condition, injury or anything of the sort..

But generally speaking, I would not rent a stroller for a healthy 8 and 11 y/o. I'd plan a TS lunch mid-day where we could take some time, get off our feet, maybe some hotel/pool time instead (basically a mid afternoon break), and then going back into the park around 4 or 5 until bedtime. DH and I love doing Disney ourselves too, and yes, we prefer to go a bit longer ourselves...but when kids are along, we go at their pace. Strollers for resting/napping at 3 y/o is a much different thing than 8 or 11.

Age 5.

My daughter is now 11, is almost as tall as I am and weighs just about the same....no way could I push her in a stroller lol.

We are leaving in 3 weeks and DS will be turning 6 the week before. We are taking our stroller because 1. We have tons of food allergies among us and we have to carry tons of food with us (the stroller is our pack mule) 2. If we have downpours, the rain cover is the best way to keep him dry during the longer walks and 3. Just in case... We are going to be there 8 full days and since I'd like to squeeze in one more year of the pack mule aspect of it, we might as well let him sit in it IF needed. He has boundless energy and we've already told him he is expected to walk most of the time which I don't see him arguing with. This WILL be the last year we take it because he won't fit into it in another year! Honestly, I'm the one who is sad about it! We may realize after a day that it's not worth it anymore but at least we will have it with us. I could not care less what other people do- I rarely notice others' vacation habits! And hopefully if someone has an issue with mine, I won't notice them either. :)

Last time we used one with our daughter she was five. We went last year when she was seven and she did pretty well, although I wont lie - I did miss it at times. She has low muscle tone and was so tired buy the end of the days. Honestly the thing I missed the most was having it while maneuvering our way out of the crowds... people can be so rude and push others around, I liked having her somewhere secure.

We had one for my 4.5yo on our last trip and our 7.5 yo wanted to use it. He took a few rides but mostly was ok without it. Then on our last day, at Epcot, we rented a Disney stroller for him. Both kids were super tired from our long trip and not so into world showcase. Having them both be able to rest cut down on the whining and let the adults enjoy. But I don't think the 7yo would have used a stroller if we hadn't had one for the little one.

We aren't going back for a couple of years and I doubt we will have one on our next trip. But I wouldn't hesitate to use one if it made our trip smoother.

My daughter is 7 and son is 3, was thinking about getting a sit and stand stroller possibly JOOVY does anyone have any suggestions about the sit and stands?

Grandson is 8, and many times he has pushed me in my wheelchair and I am not small by any means. I can't imagine him in a stroller.

My kids 4 or 5, grandkids ...5 or 6.

I'm half tempted to bring a stroller with no kids at all. DH seems to walk faster pushing a stroller. A trip with our then 2 yr grandson, I was pushing the stroller and my son says "mom give the stroller to day, he walks faster that way". Sure enough , it's true.

How weird would it look to have a cheap umbrella stroller with no kid ever? Would be nice during the cooler seasons to hold all the extra stuff. Like on days when you start out wearing a jacket, by noon wearing a t shirt and by 8 pm, needing hat and gloves.

DD#2 was 2 1/2 on her first trip, spent about half the time in the stroller. DD#1 was 5 on that trip, never touched the stroller or asked to ride in it. That was the one and only time we brought a stroller.

2 years ago we rented from offsite for our DD#2 (she was 22 months) and we got a boogie board attachment for our DD#1 to stand on occasionally. It was a pain, as neither my husband nor I are very tall, and it was hard to push the stroller around her standing in front of the handle. When we went this past January, we had a stroller again but no board as she was over the weight limit. We are going on a short 3 day trip in December, and DD#2 just turned 4. We are not bringing a stroller. My husband feels strongly that her cousins walked at 4, her sister walked at 4, so she will walk at 4, and he also agrees that HE will be the one carrying her when she is tired. I personally would take a stroller this time coming, but it would be the last. There is part of me looking forward to the freedom of no stroller. While I agree that you know your family best, I have to say that I think healthy 8 and 11 year olds should be walking. Would you put them in a stroller at the mall? Yes, WDW is a lot more walking than they are used to, but heck, its a lot more walking that I am used to too! But that doesn't mean i am going to rent an ECV, it means I suck it up, have a good time, take breaks.

I was a CM for a few years, and the oldest I saw was 9 or 10. She was bragging on a park bus (I was heading to Hoop De Doo) that her parents still push her in a stroller as she didnt like to walk since she should be able to enjoy disney without getting sweaty. The other lady on the bus asked if she had a condition and the father said No her mom spoils her is all. I was surprised.

We have a Joovy sit and stand. It is long, so it be a pain to maneuver in tight spaces; but I've never pushed a side by side double so I can't compare it to that.

We used it when DD was 1 and DS was 4. It was kind of heavy to push with both of them in there, so a 7 and 3 year old is probably going to be taxing.

A big downside for me personally is my height. I'm only 5', so when DS was standing in the stand space I had a hard time seeing over him to steer. They can sit in the back part, but it is facing backwards which makes it hard for them to look around and if the front seat is reclined at all, there is no real place to sit comfortably.

That said, it was nice to have a place for DS to hop into when we wanted to walk faster or were in crowds.
