What's the oldest age you've used a stroller?

Last year my kids were 7 & 10 and after the 1st day of the kids whining that they were tired, I rented a double stroller for the rest of the trip - it made a world of difference....it was our 1st trip and we wanted to go, go, go and knew the kids would tire out way before DH & I. We did 5X more than we could have without it and it was a great trip. The kids loved sitting in the stroller and we never heard a complaint!

We are going back, kids are now 8 & 11....what's the oldest age your kid was in a disney stroller?

I don't think I need it for AK or DHS, but there is so much walking in Epcot and so much ground to cover in MK it would help....

We used one last year but we're not using one next year. My kids will be almost 8 and almost 5. We are not commando tourists; they can handle walking around for a few hours.

5 was the last year, and we wound up only using it for a couple of days, mainly on the Epcot days since that park is so big and it's a long walk around WS and back to the entrance. When we went without the stroller, it was so freeing!!! I was doubtful, but DS did great without it.

The last time DS, 11 used a stroller was when he was 5&1/2. We rode RnRC and DS wanted me to carry him from the exit to his stroller in August heat I lost it. His stroller was the only one in the RnRC parking area. I told him that we would not be back to WDW until he was able to walk on his own. DS and I made a trip when he was 7 and he walked the entire time. He is now 11 and there is NO WAY that I would be pushing 61.5 inches and pushing 101 lbs in a stroller.

DS was 5 at Disneyland last time we used the stroller (which was strictly for Disney). We brought it for our first WDW trip when he was 6.5, but he never even wanted it.

At 8 I would assume I'd bought my son ill-fitting shoes, and we would go offsite to buy some better shoes. We would also make sure his feet were being rubbed with arnica cream at night, and offer a soak in epsom salts. At 10, and this is literally what we have done in a tone that is both serious and silly at the same time (but he knew we meant it), he'd be told to suck it up. At 11, and this is my family and what WE would do with OUR son, I'd take him to the doctor to check him for mono or something. (he's 11 now) But I know him, and know he can do 3 hours of dance classes in a row with a break for water and a Clif bar, so strolling around Disney should not hurt him IF he's wearing good shoes.

Might all turn around to making sure the kidlets are wearing good shoes. With sweat-wicking socks of course. And if blisters are showing up, put Body Glide on the feet!

Our last trip, May 2014, was the last one we brought a stroller for DD. It was a sit and stand for her and my DS. They were 6 and 2 (almost 7 and 3).

This December will be our first trip with no stroller for DD. She is be 8. DS is 4 and we are bringing an umbrella stroller for him.

I tried very hard to plan out our days to minimize walking. DD knows she will be walking and if she wants to do things she will have to suck it up. I know my feet hurt at the end of the day, but it's disney so I go, go, go.

I think 8 and 11 are waaay to old, but it's your kids, do what you want. I told my daughter that we will take lots of breaks and she can tell us if she needs more breaks.

My older one was 7 the last time. We really only used it when she was exhausted and half asleep, and found it to be a waste a lot of the time, but it did save us some complaints from her about walking and being tired.

My little one was 5 the last time she had one, and we told her at that time it was the last time she'd have one (she wasn't using it at home at all). She was fine with walking when we went after that.

My oldest just turned 12. He hasn't used a stroller since he was 4 or 5. I couldn't imagine pushing him around at 10 or 11, and I also can't imagine thay he would willingly sit in a stroller.

My youngest two are almost 5 and 3. We will still have the double stroller for our December trip, but this may be the last time.

Ds has been to WDW when he was 2, 3, 9 and 10. We used the stroller for him at 2 and 3.

Dd went to visit when she turned 5 there and also when she was 6. We brought the stroller both times for her but didn't use it either time.

We generally do open to close in the fall season at the parks. We have a sit down meal once a day and sit down for our counter service meal once a day as well.

Disney is the only place my kids sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow and stay asleep till morning.

My DD is 5 1/2 and we brought the umbrella stroller. She hasn't used a stroller in FOREVER but I knew it would be a good idea. I also like having one just to hang bags on, etc. She is tiny, only 36 lbs. The only complaining was from the 8 year old brother who was jealous. He did fine, however. I told everyone that I was donating the stroller when we got back!

Our last trip we took only one when the kids were 4 and 6. The only time DD6 was in it was at the very end of our long MK days when she sat in it waiting for the bus (and one time when we had to walk back to the bus from CR after Pirates and Pals because she fell asleep on the boat!). She refused any other time.
Leaving in 2 weeks for our next trip and probably still taking 1 for DS5 just for the long days. He did good at Cedar Point all day in 95 degree weather with no stroller but was whiny towards the end of the day so I don't think he can do that many days in a row, especially going from rope drop to close.

five would be my max, maybe a tired 6 year old taking a break in a siblings stroller for a bit, but school age kids in MY opinion should be totally capable of keeping up with us. If they are needing a stroller at that age (and no medical conditions have been ruled out) I would start family walks on a very regular basis each night before a trip. Our family tries to walk often as I think kids don't walk enough in general.

We went this past summer when DS was 6. He did fine walking - actually didn't complain once. We did go back for a mid-afternoon break each day, though. Frankly, I don't think he would agree to sit in a stroller as that would be deemed the worst thing ever: "babyish."

My DD is only 3 1/2, but I'm already dreading the day when we wont need the stroller! I like having it to put my stuff in, plus when she's contained in the stroller it's easier for me to look around and enjoy myself without havin g to keep such a close eye on her. Anyway, I say "you do you." Meaning, do whatever works for your family and don't worry about what anyone else thinks!

We used a double when DD was 5 and DS was 2. We used a single last trip when kids were 4 and 6 (6 year old turned 7 on the trip). DD occasionally sat in it, but it was mostly used for DS. Next trip DS will be 5, almost 6 and we have decided it will be the last time we do a stroller at all. DD held up pretty well despite our active touring style.
