We're leaving for WDW next Wednesday evening for a long weekend trip. We had originally planned to leave very early Thurs. a.m. and drive all the way, but upon further reflection we've decided to leave around 7:00 p.m. on Wed. and get 3-4 hours in, get a full night's sleep then have 2-3 hours to drive Thurs. a.m.

Jacksonville is a little over 3 hours which would make a good stopping point, but I'd like to miss Jacksonville's Thurs. a.m. rush hour. Anyone know the next place along I-95 that I might find a decent hotel.

I think I've figured out that the Butler Avenue exit is south of downtown and has several new hotels convenient to I-95 for anyone else trying to avoid Jacksonville morning rush hour on the last leg of their trip to Orlando.

St. Augustine would be nice if you could make it a little farther. I think that would be the first place south of Jacksonville.

There are a couple of hotels at exit 318 on I-95. It's the exit with the two outlet malls. The one on the left side of the highway when headed south has a Disney World outlet in it. We always stop there and get a few pins and stuff.

We usually stop at the Marriott Courtyard at Butler Blvd.. Like previously stated it is South of downtown Jacksonville. In August they were booked. So we found the next group of hotels at the Flagler Center exit a few miles further south of Butler Blvd. There were a few other hotels there - I do not remember what they were. The Courtyard Marriott at Flagler was less than two years old. It is a newer area.
