As of Monday 1/30 in the morning the sign remains as it has been. There are some flag stakes in the ground but no other activity. Still think it is DVC having some fun with us .
The Bonnet Creek property was one of the parcels that Disney could not buy. The secret buyer was announced before they had a deal and after that the price went beyond what Walt would pay. From what I understand Disney attempted to purchase the parcel over the years but to no avail. An agreement was finally reached with a developer, but it was not Disney.
Disney has the parcel landlocked and was required to give the developers access to their road system. Fairfield is building a timeshare on part of the parcel. It is a nice looking project and there are pictures. The rest, again from what I recall, is mixed commercial use -- hotel, golf, and other entertainment/shopping -- I gather somewhat like a DD project.
I asked several DVC guides over our week at SSR about new projects and they only repeated what we already know.
