WhatS the most shocking thing you've seen at DL?

I'd be shocked too if I saw a woman breadtfeeding while walking! But more because it takes tremendous talent to do that, I've tried and there's no way! Could she have been more discrete with her second ****? Maybe, but breast feeding moms are not to be messed with! How they do it is their business.

As for the childcare center, I'd much rather breast feed on a bench while I people watched than being inside.

However, as the OP lets not get into a breast feeding in public debate and keep on with the stories!

It takes a little skill and an older baby/toddler and/or a good sling. I never managed it with my first but with my second I was walking around shopping while nursing her in a sling at 3 weeks and nobody noticed a thing.

I would say the most shocking thing I ever saw in DL was actually my music teacher telling my sister and I who she was while dressed as a character. My sister was in a stage where she was desperate to meet the characters then got hysterical once she was close. Ms M broke the rules, which was shocking, but also made all of our future Disney visits much happier.

...Oh, and to answer your question about the baby center and who wouldn't rather breastfeed in there; well, her for one. Also, aren't there toilets in there? I don't eat near toilets and I don't breastfeed in bathrooms, its unsanitary unless there are floor to ceiling doors or lids that close on the toilets. I haven't been to DL when my kids were at that stage so I've never been in the baby center to know the set up.

Not to take this thread off topic, but for those who might need info on the baby center, there is a separate "moms only" room for nursing. Yes, there is a restroom (with little toilets) in the baby center, but it is not out in the open. If you can eat in a restaurant that has a restroom (technically there are toilets in Napa Rose, if that is a problem), then being in the baby center shouldn't be a problem. The CMs there are very nice and do not make people nurse in the restroom. My friends who use the moms room say that it is rarely crowded in there (most people don't know about it), so it is a nice, quiet place to relax and feed a baby.

Tall, leggy, bottle blonde in Toontown. She was pushing a stroller in 6" heels. No joke. My thought was, did she actually WALK all the way to Toontown in those heels? I hope she took the train.

I HATE THIS.

Who are these girls trying to impress?? They DID get the memo that you have to walk places in the park, right? I love my heels too, but I would never!! I'm sure they think they look sexy but they really look absolutely ridiculous.

Yes!!! Let's be honest, it makes you wonder about their thought process. I am short, I love to wear heels, but not at an amusement park.

They impress me! Lol

I worked in retail in my late teens - early 20's and wore heels for 8 hours straight, now I would die! Ballerina flats for me.

:-)

The second thing I saw was a man spank a child in front of Walt and Mickey's statue. And not just a swat, this man hit this child so hard that the child went flying forward and fell down. He then acted like it was an accident when he realized what he had done and how many people were watching. I have always worried that poor kid really got it when they got home. Who takes a kid to Disneyland to abuse them?

My most shocking is sadly similar to this one though there was no physical abuse. A couple of years ago my family was in line for the HM, and when we got up to the front porch we saw a group off to the side. It consisted of 4 or 5 boys with an older teenage boy who was in charge of their group (couldn't tell if they were related). The teenager was absolutely verbally ripping into one of the boys in the harshest, most disturbing and cruel way. He was humiliating the boy for being eight-years-old but too scared to ride HM. For some reason, the teenager felt that no one in the group could ride unless they all did, so he was loudly and at length berating this poor eight-year-old as the weakest, most pathetic boy ever born. The boy was doing his best not to cry in front of his friends, but he refused to ride and just stood stock still and took the verbal onslaught while his lip quivered. It was really bad, and I was trying to wave down a CM for help. Couldn't get anyone's attention. It was so awful I couldn't stand having my own kids hear it. I stepped out of line to volunteer to wait with the boy at the exit while the others rode, but as I started to speak the mean teen just gave me a look of total anger and hatred and stomped off toward ROA with his group following after him. It took me a couple of hours to get over that one.

I agree that she could have been more discrete with her second ****! I for one have no problem what so ever with a breastfeeding mama. I don't think they need to feed their children behind closed doors or in or near a restroom. It's a natural, healthy thing and not something to be shamed. I would however be offended if the breastfeeding mom had her second **** exposed for no real reason while she is rushing to feed. Why on Earth would someone think this is ok in public?! And why would you want to be THAT exposed?!

I would never presume to tell anyone where to nurse (okay, maybe if they were doing it on the roof of a moving monorail) but to reassure you, the baby center has a *restroom* not just a toilet. If you chose to, you could nurse there without ever coming near or even seeing the actual plumbing. It isn't the same as nursing in a stall, it's more like nursing in your hotel room which has a bathroom attached. If your kid has trouble focusing, it can be a real blessing. When that head whips around to see something and it's still got a good grip... OW! I sought out quiet places to nurse for my own well-being with my firstborn. :)

I've nursed in the baby center lots of times! It's quiet and warm (we were there in December & my baby was 2 months old) and the private area you nurse in is in a separate room from the changing tables and training toilets. I loved it! I'm betting this mom did not realize she was hanging out. Sounds like a busy mom multi-tasking!

As far as worst things I've ever seen........in the pacific wharf are of DCA, we were crossing the bridge and saw a couple fighting, yelling at one another. They both had beers in their hands. Next thing you know, the girl is dumping her beer all over the guy! It was a huge scene and security eventually came over.

Last one was a personal experience. Two women cut in front of me while boarding Star Tours. Instead of following their path to their row of seats, they cut in front of me and messed up all the seating arrangements. I politely went in front of them so I could sit with my husband and niece, telling them they were supposed to be in the row in front of us. They accused me of cutting (why would they be seated next to my family?) and started verbally attacking and cursing at me to the point that others in the attraction told them to stop cursing because of children. They were threatening me and no one did one thing to stop them. the entire ride they turned around and glared at me mouthing threats. They continued to follow me after the ride was over saying they were going to beat me up (but of course, not using those words). The CM's had us wait there until these women were escorted out of the ride, they looked as scared as I was. Then they told us we could go. I was so young at the time, I wish I would have done more about it, like ask for them to be removed from the park or something. But, I didn't....I was afraid and it totally ruined the rest of my day at the park. I still think about that every single time I ride Star Tours. I still don't understand their hostility. It's not like there wasn't a seat for them. I certainly hope they didn't ruin other peoples day like they did mine.

I think my most shocking moment was one of verbal abuse as well, only the abuser was an adult, I believe it was the boys step father from what I heard in line and on the ride.
I was riding GRR solo and the family I was seated with included a young boy, about 7 or 8 who was asking about what to expect. Well, this man was making up the scariest possible scenarios and them laughing with the rest if the adults about how scared the kid was. That was bad enough, but then the kid started crying because he was really scared of what was coming next and the man started yelling at him and calling him names saying he was running the ride for everyone else. I told the kid I was scared of roller coasters, but loved this ride so it couldn't be too scary, which earned me an eye roll from the "adult". The boys mom just sat there and let him do it too, which made me even madder.

I just don't understand what's wrong with people who think it's funny to be cruel to children. It's evil and sadistic in my opinion. Good for you for providing comforting words!
