What's the most *sentimental* movie you've seen?

Wow, page 2 and no one has mentioned It's a Wonderful Life yet? That's mine, for sure. I cry like a baby, every year (and I love every minute of it!) :santa:

I just found this thread and was going to enter IAWL mysel. I don't care
HOW many times I watch it when they start bringing the money, the bell rings and they sing Auld Lang Syne I'm all blurred up. And as a guy who loves his dog "Marly and me" causes the same reaction. I'm just an old softy but the DW does not mind

I wanted to see that movie too...Timothy Green but I cry over everything. My kids will make fun of me so maybe we won't:rotfl:

Term of Endearment
My Girl
Marley and Me
The Notebook are all movies that make me cry each time

What really made me cry was the scene in Band of Brothers where they comes across the concentration camps. Obviously it wasn't a surprise to me that they found them BUT what never crossed my mind until I saw that movie is can you imagine how they felt seeing those people in that condition:guilty: I know that sounds really stupid of me but you always think of the people in the camp not the people who found them:confused3

Oh dear, this just reminded me of a movie that absolutely destroyed me... Life is Beautiful. I cried so hard I thought I would throw up.

That movie had a huge impact on me. I don't think I ever looked at life the same way again.

I agree with lots of them that have been posted.

Another one that gets me everytime is A Walk to Remember. Such a great movie!

Prepare for it. I rented it years ago one Sunday afternoon and watched it alone. I don't think I spoke again at all that day. My mind (and my heart) were preoccupied with trying to "digest" it.

I forgot about Marley & Me. I gave my dog a big hug after watching it.

Life is Beautiful
Bridges of Madison County
Marley and Me
The Notebook
Schindler's List
Forrest Gump
Up
Toy Story 3
Bicentennial Man

Shawshank redemption

Forrest Gump. I cry every time they meet in the reflecting pool. I tear up,when I think about it.

That's how I felt after seeing Saving Private Ryan.

Life is Beautiful is definitely a tough one.

Oh my!! I remember my brother found it on tv once and I got sucked into watching it with him. My mom walked in to the room an hour later and was shocked to find us both with a box of tissues between us bawling!! She didn't say a word and just walked out. It is a really powerful movie.

Another movie I absolutely love and have has to replace my DVD copy twice now because I watch so often, is Return to Me. I love this movie!

Life is Beautiful is the only other movie besides The Champ (from my earlier post) that I remember I was still bawling about as I got in the car and rode away from the theater . The people I'd watched both of those with were also crying. I've cried during lots of other movies, but not where I was still crying by the time I got to the car. I could probably have still been crying after Toy Story 3, but I composed myself.

Life is Beautiful starts out so light-hearted, but don't be fooled. The tone changes and it turns out just so sad and tragic. I guess I should watch it again because I really liked it, but I never have. I really hate crying from movies. I haven't seen a lot of the ones mentioned on here (e.g. Marley & Me, The Notebook, Saving Private Ryan) because I've heard about them being tearjerkers, and I hate crying so much. I don't like to be sad, and I always have a horrendous headache from crying. The headache ruins the rest of the day/evening if I'm out with people.

I agree with a lot of the ones mentioned. When I saw Stepmom, I cried so much my sweater was soaked! The scene in Steel Magnolias when Sally Field lost it gets me every time.

Saving Private Ryan shell-shocked me. It took me days to react and I will never watch it again because I will never forget those scenes. My great uncle was a Ranger during WWII, I can't believe what he endured.

I read the Notebook, couldn't face the movie. My uncle, mentioned above, lost his wife (my great aunt who was like a grandmother) to Alzheimers.

I refuse to see Marley and Me. There's only so much I can take!

I agree with a lot of the movies mentioned. I felt the same way after Life is Beautiful - I was speechless for a long time, and could barely breathe I was so overcome with emotion. Good movie!

(OT but actually, my definition of a really great movie is one that makes me laugh and cry. It happened with Ted last week, lol.)

I'll add:

My #1 favorite movie A League of Their Own
Turner and Hooch
Chances Are
Pride and Prejudice
War Horse (had a box of tissues and was stifling a wail in the theater :scared: )
Dreamgirls (For some reason I bawled during the whole movie when I saw it on the big screen. Just felt so bad for Effie, and found the performances and music utterly moving!)

For your listening enjoyment, from Dreamgirls: (OK, sniffling a little putting these clips together! :lmao: )

(Obviously sound and music are a big part of the movie for me! :goodvibes Have a lot of soundtracks and like watching a movie with surround sound, even at home.)
