What's the longest you've stayed at Aulani?

I'm thinking about 9 nights. Too long? I plan for us to go and do different things and also hang out at the resort.

We're here now doing the first of 12 nights but I don't think it will be long enough. We just finished up 14 nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and it flew by so fast we can't believe it.

Wow. That sounds like a fantastic trip! Enjoy!!!

We only stayed five nights, but we were dying for more. Our next trip will be at LEAST a solid week if not more, but sadly, won't happen until 2018.

We'll see ya there next weekend!

We stayed 8 nights after spending 5 nights in Waikiki (at the Hilton Hawaiian Village). The idea was to get most of our Oahu fix and touring done in 5 days, then spend the relaxing 9 days / 8 nights at Aulani. Well, 5 days was not enough for Oahu (and we had been there before!) - so we added a few (part) days of touring to the Aulani part of the trip. I think 8 nights would have worked for us at Aulani if we had spent a week first on Oahu outside of Aulani.

We're doing 14 in June...and that will be on top of 7 beforehand on Kauai. Airfare for seven is so much that we needed to make it worthwhile!

wasn't long enough....

left the resort twice....

loved it...and its so close to us, only 10 hrs compared to our usual 32 hr treks to WDW....bonus!:thumbsup2 we love our DVC!

Ours was 8 nights. If it weren't for extremely important issues drawing me back home, I'd say the stay wasn't long long enough. We spent most of our time hanging at the resort or nearby areas with only a few excursions beyond.

Having a car was a "must."

We stayed 10 days and were kicking ourselves we didn't book 2 full weeks.

You definitely won't regret it. We did have a car so we mixed up days out and about and days onsite.

Just curious why you felt having a car was a must when you spent most of your time at the resort? Thanks!

It would be a waste to go to Hawaii to just stay at the resort. You can do yours m, etc. But how awesome is it to get out and just go to different beaches or go on a hike? The beach at Aulani wasn't really good IMO. I'm going to have to get away from there and hit a great beach!

Depends on your family dynamic and interests. I can't imagine how it could be a waste to spend 9 days in paradise. We stayed 9 nights/10 days (left on a red eye) and only left for 1 full day then a couple grocery runs. But we have 2 young children. So hiking etc will have to wait for another trip. It was so much easier to stay onsite and just be able to run back to the villa for snacks etc.

The pool, peach, Aunty's and other amenities were perfect for our family. We were never bored. My kids are total water babies and we spent all day in the pool, ocean, lazy river. We got a spot about 8am and were snoring by 9pm every night.

The beach had chairs, umbrellas, toys, boogie boards. We felt no need to go anywhere else.

Dh and I have been to Maui twice and done a lot of the other stuff but this was all about family :beach:

Been to Hawaii several times. It was just an opinion. I can't imagine not renting a car in Hawaii but that's just me. There might be a rainy day and we can go to the Children's Museum or find other things to do. Again, just an opinion.

We rented a car for the options but we found it so much easier to stay put :)

We also knew this was just the first of many trips. When my boys are teenagers I doubt the teeny waves at Aulani will cut it but it was great for a 5 year old, lol.

We just did 4 nights, 5 days at Aulani (left at 3:00 for our flight home) and we could have done with maybe one more day. We have found for us that we are true homebodies and don't need more than 6-7 nights anywhere so far.

We did 2 nights before Aulani in Waikiki so a total of 6 nights, 7 days on Oahu. One more day would have been good but I think we were all starting to think of home and our own beds. Plus our kids are teens and weren't all that into the teen activities there and I know they were missing their friends.
