Anyone at all received their Magical Express tags yet? I've been looking on several forums and there seems to be A LOT of problems so far getting everything organized and out to everyone. Not a good way to start this...

I'm within 12 days :( getting worried...

I did read this however:

>>>>NEW INFORMATION!!!
Due to the printing error and delay, if your bag tags do not arrive in time to mark you luggage before you depart, DISNEY representatives will use your claim tickets to pull your luggage and transport it to your resort. In this case the luggage will travel on your motor coach to ensure proper delivery to your room.

For any guest traveling on or after May 17th, all printing delays HAVE been corrected and your luggage tags will be sent out approximately 15 day prior to your arrival by regular mail. Disney is now expecting them to arrive to the guest about 5 – 10 days in advance of you trip.

If you book through a Travel Agent your DME bag tags go to the travel agency, not the guest. The Travel Agent will then redirect them to you. The bag tags for Travel Agencies will be printed earlier and sent out 21 days in advance to arrival at the agency about 15 days prior to arrival. These guests should expect them at their home again about 5-10 days in advance of your trip.

Upon arrival, proceed to the luggage area, look for a blue-jacketed Disney representative, give them your luggage claim tickets & proceed to bus.

At least that is what they told me this morning...

i'm starting to worry a little but i see that they will send the luggage tags out a few weeks before we leave.

does anyone know about the boarding passes for disney magical express? are they sent out with the luggage tags?

i'm going to call them this week and see what's up. we are leaving in june.

I did receive my ME tickets they come in a booklet all together that you rip out what you need. The bus passes are in the booklet too.

I wonder why some people were able to get the tags and some weren't? Fingers crossed mine turn up. I still have a bit of time before I am allowing myself to get stressed about it!!

When did you get your tags jrsybell?

Great I'm leaving May 16th of course. And I booked through AAA. Great... So I have to ask them?

I received them about a week and a half ago by Fed Ex. I just phoned Disney every day and the sent them out. I actually received two packages from them, one with the ME stuff and another with the new luggage tags.

Here is my update:

I called Magical Express (run by the Disney Cruise line I guess since that's how they answered the phone). I gave her my confirmation # and I'm in the system, but I'm only in the system for a transfer, my flight info is not in there. Then she says some packets are being mailed today and mine should be in it ... but with only the info for the the transfer not the baggage. She told me if I don't get any information to see the Disney reps at the airpot (like they told others). Makes no sense they don't have a clue what's going on. You book your reservation and give the flight information so you think they would have it.. I'm not so worried about the transfer - ok I can do it when I get there..but the luggage I'm worried about. I've had luggage lost on airplanes before because of the airlines being wishy washy.. I know this is different but Im' just worried they will forget the luggage or the airline might see unclaimed luggage and put it somewhere else. Who knows if I will get my information... They are sending it to AAA first of course... Who was good about sending me my vacation packet very quickly (in 1 day).

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I was told ME would be up and running for the media event starting tomorrow, but I have yet to receive anything. As Disney handled all my travel arrangements, I'm assuming they know where I'll be and when.

I just called the Magical Express number (1-866-599-0951) They have my flight details wrong....which is always a good start. The woman I spoke to was very helpful, she corrected the info...she had me as leaving the day I came in...we had a bit of a laugh about that, I said that I planned to do all four parks in one day, so that was fine (!!)...I completely forgot to ask if I was getting tags for everyone or not, so I guess we shall see. She said that I should get the tags in time (17th May) but if I didn't not to worry, and then told me pretty much what everyone else has been told about cast members being there to find your luggage (which I am not totally convinced is going to work so well) If I have to find these guys at baggage claim, I might aswell just help them find my luggage myself, which I would rather do. She said to take a day bag with some extra clothes, which is also a little bit of a concern....I don't really need the extra carry-on to be honest. She also said that the tags were being sent out by expediated means, rather than just the regular mail, but seeing as some of my info wasn't correct anyway, will the tags be right?

Actually the woman I spoke to was really friendly, she made me laugh when she said "Don't worry, we haven't lost anyone or their luggage yet....the service starts May 5" :rotfl: She was joking by the way!!

I also got through today. I tried yesterday morning because the recording they had on before said they were open "Sunday to Saturday, 8AM to..." and when I called at 8AM they changed it to 9AM. I couldn't call that late as I had plans, so I had to wait until today.

They at least had my information, and said "they are going out Monday, but if you don't find them go to the welcome center and they will help you." She didn't get into the whole help the CM find luggage, etc.

I mainly just wanted to confirm that they had my flight info, etc. - since others had reported issues. I'm hoping the tags come, but if they don't I'll probably just go get my luggage myself and then go to the welcome center. I think I can handle that. ;)

Thanks for the info.

We were wondering the same thing....was getting kind of nervous and wondered what would happen

So, if we don't get them before we go, will they have come in while we are down there?

I've been a HUGE booster of DME from the start. People were mocking, complaining, and worrying even before this recent tag mess, and I was always trying to be the voice of reason, as well as a voice with credibility because I am traveling May 8 so what will affect others will affect me just the same.

Like many others, I've not received my DME materials. I called DME last week, and the CM told me what everyone else has been told. But now that I think about it, there is one potential problem and it's a HUGE one: I'm supposed to give a CM my luggage claim tickets so they can hand-pull my bags from the baggage claim carousel, get past "security" (the people who check no one is stealing suitcases before passengers exit the baggage claim area), and get my bags onto the DME vans (the vehicles the bags would be on if they were properly tagged to begin with). So now what if my bags are lost, whether by my airline, MCO, or Disney -- since I gave away my claim tickets, I now have no proof that I ever checked those bags. I'd have NO PROOF. That's unacceptable. I hope they come up with a better system, like maybe photocopying those claim tickets so I can either keep the originals or have a photocpy as proof. Let's all think about that one.

Well, I'll write the claim #s down on a piece of paper while in flight. That way IF something gets misplaced, I'll have a starting point.

MY UPDATE - I also phoned this morning and was told that mine probably wouldn't arrive in time for my trip *MAY 19!!!* but that I should just go to the Welcome Center on Ground Level and they'll take care of me. She said that all my flight info was in the computer and that I'll be 'on the list.'

MY VENT - If we have to wait on the bus for everyone to find all the luggage and wait for it to be loaded then wait while the bus makes its stops, how long exactly is this fiasco going to take? I want to get to my hotel and get going on my vacation. Geez.

Like a previous poster, we're also due to get there May 7-no ME luggage tags yet. But I called a few days ago, and we are in the system, which is what's most important to us! But I'm also hearing that those who've gotten their tags get a coupon for a free lanyard and a free pin. Hey, I want my pin!

I don't think you will be waiting in the bus for your busmates to fetch their luggage. Instead other people who arriuved earlier and already fetched their luggage will get on board and the bus will leave more quickly. Your busmates I think will get on the next bus.

New ME hints:
http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/magicx.htm

I don't know whether they will do this but, if they use the May 4 - 16 ME ressies just as a gauge to estimate demand with, but actually take all comers when it comes to service, then there would be no problems. (The baggage tag problem is supposedly fixed for May 17 and after ressies)

That link didn't work for me.

Hey! Some of you guys are luckier than me. DME can't seem to get my flight info into their computers. I booked DME through CRO when I first booked my flights in March. I called CRO at 30 days out to reverify all my resort ressies, PS#'s, tour #'s. and DME. The CM at that time read my flight info back to me from her computer, so I know they had it. When I started reading on here that DME didn't have alot of people in their system, I called the DME # to verify with them. The CM was very rushed and just said 'oh yes, we have you, don't worry', She barely gave me time to get my last name out and didn't even ask for my resort conf # or flight info. There was no way she had time to see if I was in their system or not. I called back the next day and got another very frazzled, but nice CM who took the time to check and sure enough I was not even in their system. She retook my flight info and told me I probably wouldn't get my tags, but not to worry. Anyway I called again yesterday to ask them to please Fed Ex my tags. Guess what? I'm still not in their system at all. The CM AGAIN took my flight info and ressie #'s. She told me another batch of tags were shipped out last Friday and my tags, might be in there. I asked her how they could be, if I wasn't even in their system and she said 'Oh I guess they wouldn't be, would they?' :confused3 I asked her what would happen if I still wasn't in their system when I arrived and the CM's at the airport didn't have me on their clip board--if I would still be allowed on the bus. She said she 'thought so'? :earseek: I'm calling again tomorrow, just to see if she was able to get me in their system. She seemed to think the problem was that I had two different conf # for POP. I'm staying two days at POP, then renting DVC points for 5 days, then going back to POP for two more days. Each time I've called I've given them both conf # for POP. I don't expect to get my tags now. I'd be happy to just know I was in their system and would be able to get on the bus. I posted this on the transportation board and someone responded that they were having the same problem. It sounds like they have no idea how many or even when people will be coming in. The CM said they would have LOTS of CMs in blue coats with Mickey gloves and just find one to help me and he would pull my luggage and help me get it on the bus. This was after she told me she 'thought' I'd be able to get on the bus, even if I wasn't listed in the DME system and the CMs at the airport didn't have my name. I'll keep trying until I leave in 9 days, but it sounds like I may have to rent a last minute towncar afterall.

Just realized I only have 8 days 3 hours and 32 minutes until my plane takes off and I still haven't gotten my ME tags???? Good thing I booked a rental car just in case!!!!
