What's the first thing you do upon check-in?

First thing I do after getting settled in the room, is get something to eat. I'm usually very hungry, after getting up super early for a early morning flight.

:car:

I'm 'running over' to Amazon right now to check these out! I'd LOVE to bring rum and vodka with me next time (and I'm usually too paranoid to pack bottles in my suitcase).

I've used them a couple of times now! I think a 3 pack was like $20. Gotta love Amazon!

It depends on our flight times. For our upcoming trip we have a late afternoon flight into Orlando so we will just get settled in our rooms at Pop and pick up our mugs and grab something to eat from the food court before calling it a night so that we can be rested and up early for MK the next day. On our last trip we had a morning flight and headed straight to the MK after picking up our rental van. :thumbsup2

I count the towels and the little bottles (in the Villa) to make sure all there and immediately call Mousekeeping for extra blankets.

I am always cold in the room when the blower comes on.

Typically, what is the FIRST thing you do after you check in and get settled in your room? For myself, I think it's that first walk around the grounds of the resort I'm staying at, to get that old feeling of being on vacation again. After the long flight and layovers, I'm happy to get into my room and have a shower, then go exploring if it's not too late at night. This time I'm arriving fairly early in the morning, so I'll have the whole day to kick around before heading to the parks the following day. Do you have a ritual you follow, or are you sticking to an itinerary?
I usually check in around 3pm, so I just drop my stuff off in the room and head to a park.

This trip we will get into MCO at 9am....so we will head to POR via Magical Express. We are hoping to have our room ready so we can take a minute and relax as we will be up so early. If not might we will probably let the boys go to the pool while us adults kick back and relax. Then we have a 3:30 Ohana ressie for dinner. After that I will have to walk down MK Main Street to see the castle. It's just not a Disney vacation until I see the castle!

We always take the first flight out in the morning, so we typically arrive around 9am. We check-in and relax at the resort all day and go to the pool. We always do Garden Grill for dinner on our arrival day, so after relaxing all day, we head over to Epcot and go to GG for dinner. That first day is so exciting, with the whole trip ahead of you... there is nothing like it! We wear our bathing suits under our clothes, in case our rooms aren't ready when we get there, so we can just go straight to the pool - worked out perfect this past trip in September.

I tend to also always take the first flight out of Philly in the morning, usually around 6:50-7am. Once I land, I hop on ME and it's off to my hotel! If the room is not ready, I unload everything at bell services, pull my pre-packed park purse from my carry-on and dash for the bus to Epcot. If the room is ready I do go and check it out and get a little settled before I run off to Epcot. It's my favorite park and always my first one to visit!

check for bed bugs, clean the room, find packed toiletries, shower and settle in.

Then we grab a bite to eat (after about 12 hours of flying) and head for bed.

We take fairly early flights so usually arrive at MCO late morning. When our kids were young, arrival day was always spent having lunch at Hurricane Hanna's, getting into our rooms, going for a swim in Stormalong Bay and then having dinner at Hoop Dee Doo. Later on, when they were older and could stay up later without turning into monsters, we started going to MK on arrival night-after lunch at Beaches and getting into our rooms. We always have dinner at LTT on arrival night and first ride is always Pirates.
