What's the dress code?

Maybe a quite stupid question, but hope some of you can help.

We do have ADR for Narcossee's and were informed that there is a business casual dress code. But what exactly is business casual.

Is it ok to go there with jeans and a long or short sleeved shirt? Are T-shirts allowed and do we have to have jackets?

Do they also have certain rules which shoes to wear?

Thanks,

timben

It's not a stupid question! I don't know the policy exactly for that restaraunt, but in general, business casual means no jeans or denim of any kind, preferably khaki pants, and no T-shirts with logos on them. A dress T-shirt would be ok, but preferably a shirt with a collar, like a golf or polo shirt.

But then again in Disney I've seen just about anything goes as far as the dress code....

What are really trying to enforce is no tank tops on men. Other than that, pretty much anything goes!

We had dinner at Jiko during our stay last week. I was really surprised by how lax the dress code was! We saw cargo shorts, teva sandals, printed teeshirts, flip flops.

We felt oddly over dressed...I had a plain black skirt on with a solid top and my husband had a Tommy Bahama shirt on with dressy bermuda shorts. Not like we were in formal wear! I say "oddly" because we knew we were dressed appropriately for the type of restaurant it was(and if anything probably dressed down if this restaurant were in the "real" world) but we were dressed up compared to those around us

Don't know if this is the norm at other restaurants.

Yes, it is sadly the norm. The only restaurants on property that have a real dress code are Victoria & Alberts and Bistro de Paris and I've even seen men in Bistro with shorts. We always dress nice because we enjoy our meals that way and I just try not to look at the other diners in their printed t's, ball caps, and flip flops. I think a lot of people go to dinner straight from the parks.

Many do come straight from the parks and not a few go straight back TO the parks after dinner. I believe that's why the dress code is so lax (or unenforced)--Disney simply does not want to lose that considerable amount of business and finds it easier to have a "relaxed" expectation for dress rather than having a more "stern" code that needs to be enforced night ,after night, after night---

We usuallly go from park to dinner and especially then from dinner to a park for the evening. Unless you are staying at that resort, going back to yours and changing costs too much precious park time. I'm glad therefore for the relaxed dress codes. Especially for the in-park restaurants, it would be ludicrous to require non-park attire...

As far as it sounds to me we need not to bring anything special than the things we have. Good to hear.

Thanks you for your comments.
