Or are they the same thing? Are they both timeshares? EEEEk! I'm so confused. Where can I find rates for jan. '03?

Also, would this be better for a family of 8 than HIFS? My kids are really into theming....we've always stayed on property, but ain't no way I'm payin' for two Disney hotel rooms.....

thanks~

I have stayed at both the Vistana Resort (Dec 2000) and the Vistana Villages (May 2002). Both resorts are time share properties; however, they rent out the rooms that are not being used. They will probably offer you a chance to schedule a tmeshare presentation but you are not obligated. Vistana Resort is the older resort of the two. Vistana Villages opened the fall of 2000. V R is larger and some of the units are older. V V is smaller and the units are absolutely beautiful. IMHO both resorts are about the same to Disney in terms of drive time. (I clocked 10 minutes from V V parking lot by our unit to the TTC parking lot). The units are much larger than the units at HFIS. Also you have a washer/dryer and a full kitchen - plus two bathrooms in your unit.
It's comparable to a 2 BR condo - and don't forget about the great Jacuzzi tub - perfect to use after the little ones go to sleep. Our DS loved both the pool areas at V R and at V V. The VR has a pool with a slide. V V has a cool waterfall feature plus a zero depth entry area for the little ones with fountains that spray water.

We booked both trips via hotelkingdom.com and got a great deal. We also check our reservation directly with the resort after booking and prior to our trip. We've had absolutely no problems. This trip (Nov 2002) we decided to try EBay and scored a great deal for a 2BR at the Marriott Grand Vista for $450 for a week!! It's close to the Vistana Villages. I'm anxious to check out the resort and report back to the Boards.

If you have questions about V V or VR - let us know!!

Great info!

So do the Spas have a jacuzzi? I'm thinking of those and the Springs (both of which I understand are older, but larger) at the VR.

I read also that the Spas are in close proximity to the Cascades pool and the eating area? Am I understanding this?

I will probably have to drive dh to the Swan/Dolphin each day for his conference. And idea how far that it from VR?

Sorry for all the questions....I'm trying to compare the Caribe Royale with the VR....they seem to offer the same stuff.

Thanks!
