what's the difference between an iphone 4 and iphone 4S?

I have been ready for an upgrade for awhile but just seriously started thinking about it. I see sales for iphones all the time but what really is the difference between the iphone 4 and iphone 4S? Pricewise they are $100 in difference. Why is the 4S more expensive? Currently I have an iphone 3

Trying to decide if I want or need the extra bells and whistles!

I am in with the Camera. I am having so much fun with it on Instagram, Facebook, etc. It takes AMAZING pictures.

Really? I have the iphone4s and Siri doesn't impress me at all. I think it's overrated. What are you using it for? Please share. It doesn't seem to understand what I'm asking it. I get the weather easily but not much else.

I agree and second that question. Maybe I just don't understand what it/she can do? Currently, the only thing Siri does is amuse my children.

Not the PP, but I use Siri almost every day. Before I head out for my walk in the morning, she gives me the weather and starts my music for me. She dictates most of my texts and makes shopping lists. She calls my husband and my Mom. She does the math when I am putting together a deposit. When I'm riding shotgun down the highway, she gives us a list of places to eat at a town an hour down the road. I've even used her at work to take dictation for a report I was working on! Love her!

Even if Siri wasn't in the equation, I would still recommend a 4S over a 4. Apple no longer supports the iPhone 3G (released in 2008) with softward updates. So if you buy the 4 (originally released in 2010), it may only be supported until 2013. The 4GS will probably be supported for at least a year longer, until 2014. -- Suzanne

My big thing is dictating texts! That is priceless to me! I hate that it misspells certain peoples names, but it is so much esier than typing things out and I can actually send a quickly at a stoplight if I need to.

The 4S is great! Siri is extremely useful, and the A5 processor and camera are significant upgrades from the 4.
