with the multiple places that advertise "We Buy Unused Disney Tickets."
We just got back from a trip to the world and we stayed offsite in a rental home off 192 in Indian Creek. Along 192, I would see these giant advertisements (posted on something huge, like a grounded hot air balloon) everywhere. In fact, when my dh was pumping gas at a Citgo station, a man approached him and asked him if he needed to purchase Disney tickets or if he had unused days to "sell." We have annual passes, so the guy left us alone after my dh brushed him off. BUT the man also approached the friends we were traveling with. Our friends had purchased 6 day passes (from undercover tourist) for his family of four. The man told him to go to Disney customer service on the last day and request to add on 4 additional days, which would cost him about $50. After this was done, he instructed our friend to bring these tickets back to him, which he would then purchase from him for $200. His intent would then be to resell the tickets for $200/each (making a profit of $600.) Our friend figured he would chance it and on the last day he added an additional 4 days to each of his families tickets. Disney reissued him new tickets with the 4 days on the tickets. Disney asked him what parks he visited on which days. Our friend went back to the gas station and the man bought his Disney tickets. The man also asked what parks on which days he visited, he also confirmed the start date and the length of time he had left on the 14 days to resell the tickets.
Now, here is my question... where's the catch? This seems so wrong from all ends. How can so many places claim to buy and resell unused Disney tickets? What is the real deal with these places?
I figured I would turn to the dis because as I tell my dh, if it is on the dis it is gospel truth!
Thanks!
