What's the Deal with HoJo??

Which room is better the double double beds with the skylight? Or the deluxe double queen (building 2) by the garden poll area? *

We've stayed in building 2 in the deluxe double queen, the rooms are nice, beds are comfy, we where in a third floor room with a balcony that overlooked
the pool and could see the monorail go by and space mountain.

Is the parking still free?

Yes, I pretty sure parking is still free.

And it's not just a *gap* in the bushes, it's an actual path. :) There's no going off road, LOL.

I thought this might be the place to post my HOJO question, forgive me if it's not!

We are going Jan 16-23 and are booking with the entertainment rate. Will they charge my card when I book? The website says they will charge any necessary deposit, but there isn't one listed when I go to reserve the room :confused3

Nope, you don't pay till you check in or is it out??? I suggest you call their direct # ask for in house reservations - 714-776-6120

We found it a bit over rated when we stayed a few years ago. Having the hallways just made things louder when kids would be running through screaming at all hours. The room was okay, but we didn't find the beds to be all wonderful as some say. The walk wasn't too bad, but if I'm staying offsite I'd rather have an even less of a walk. The kid water area is pretty cool, I'll give it that. We were unlucky in not really having the best customer service, not real friendly like we expected.

Overall we prefer the Tropicana if off site, but of course prefer staying onsite.

They shouldn't charge your card when you book. My advice to you when booking the retro rates is to call in-house reservations directly and book with them rather than booking online. The in-house people will be much clearer about policies than that one-size-fits all online booking system.

Going to Hojo Anaheim is like going home; we have stayed there so many times. That is why we love it. It is worth a little extra walk to see the beautiful grounds of the hotel, all landscaped beautifully. It is a bit more like a resort than a motel, especially one of those that line Harbor Blvd. Some rooms are certainly better than others, so if you get a mediocre room, I suppose you could be underimpressed. Everytime we have ever stayed, everything in our room works properly. The housekeeping is exceptional for such an older property. The staff overall are warm and friendly and really seem to want to make your stay better. But why am I sharing these secrets? Hojo has been booked solid a number of times we have tried to make reservations, and we have thankfully been able to snag a room that was a cancellation. It's gotten much too popular in my opinion. :snooty:
