What's the Deal with HoJo??

I am planning on booking this hotel for my next Disneyland vacation. My main dilemna, is wondering how to go about booking, and what rate I shuld ask for. I normally call for hotel reservations. I just feel better when I talk to a person. Doing it online, just isn't my way of doing things.

Now I have a AAA card, and AARP card, then there's the Disboards 15% that somebody mentioned. I also believe that another website that I frequently post on has a preferred rate as well.

Is there someone that I should particularly ask for when booking, or will anybody be able to sort out all these rates for me? Sometimes, I do a little online checking before, and mention those quoted rates when I call.

Does anyone have any additional ideas. The lowest rate, in my case, might mean that I can go to Disneyland for an additional day.

Depending on your dates, they may have an Entertainment Card rate - its super cheap!!!! Certainly worh getting the book for!!!!

Also, we are thinking of upgrading to a park view - they said we could do it for $15 plus tax - this was for a 2 queen bed room....do they have them with a king bed???

Just wonderin!! What do you think my chances are of upgrading on a parkvie the week of 11/13=11/20?

They have kings w/the entertainment rate, they are standard rooms and cost $59. If you check this link below they have the room type and the rate for each room.

The link I posted above will tell you if your dates are available for the entertainment rate, which is the best rate. If your dates are available, call the local number to Hojos and ask for IN HOUSE reservations (call during the week when they are there). All you need for the entertainment rate is the card that comes with the book. You can sometimes get them on Ebay for a few bucks. You don't need the card to book the rate, they may ask to see it when you check in.

I called a couple of days ago and upgraded my standard room to a Park View room with no problems. We will be there 11/25-11/28.

I'm thinking Hojo is sold out for 11/13. My friends tried to reserve online for 11/11-11/14 and could not due to nothing showing as available for the 13th. They were only able to book a standard room through Expedia. I'd suggest calling the hotel directly and finding out for sure.

2. Are the sleeper sofas comfortable for an adult?

3. What is the normal difference between queen suite and a kids suite?

They book up really fast. I just looked today and there are only 2 days in April left for the whole year!!

I booked my May dates in Feb. I would say book early as possible!!

The November dates had been there for a couple of months. As of yesterday, they are gone, so they may be booked. In fact, there are currently no retro rates listed for Hojo! Rates sometimes become available again as people change plans and cancel.

Everyone has their own reasons they love HOJOs. They are very reasonably priced, (starting at $59 for a retro rate/entertainment rate, I think $129 for regular), and the POOL is great fun. It's great for kids, and covenient. I personally was very happy with the customer service. Even this last booking, the man I spoke with was very helpful, even suggesting certain rooms since they would be renovated and newer, rooms closer to the pool, etc. Very nice staff. On our last trip, my DD went through my purse and took out her spending money she recieved from Grandma. She left it open on the unmade bed, all $400 of it. When we returned, the envelope was closed on a freshly made bed, sitting right next to her stuffed animal. Everyday, the cleaning staff would make her bed and put her stuffed animal positioned like it was sleeping, half under the covers, with head on pillow. DD just thought that was hilarious. It was little things like that that make me want to return to Hojos. That... and DD LOVED the POOL!

It's funny this comes up year after year. There are so many dates when you look at the beginning of the year, you really need to book your retro rate rooms then. I saved a screen shot of the calender from the beginning of the year so everyone could see how many dates are available to begin with, when I knew this subject would come up again . sorry I cut december off my screen shot, but there were lot's of dates available for the first 2 weeks. it seems to me after this there were even dates for september added, and at one point all the days n October right through halloween were available. something you just have to keep checking on.

7 minutes. Cross Harbor immediately at the intersection with Manchester after crossing Manchester. Go down Harbor now on the west side. When you get to the OCTA bus stop there is a gap in the bushes go through there.

Truly...that is subjective. We have stayed at Hojo's many times over the past more than 20 years!! we really like it there and were just there this past December with our 2 grand daughters age 5 and 7. We have also stayed at Candy cane inn, Disneyland Hotel, Best western park place inn, what is now the Sheraton park hotel, and this july will be at park vue inn. it really depends on if walking a bit is an issue or not for you. when in good health and with the kids a little older, the walk is fine. when we were there in dec. with the grand daughters, I found myself wishing we were at the BWPPI or somewhere closer, but it was worth it because of the water play area for them. we bought the ART passes for the length of our stay and used it a lot. But if we had to make trips back and forth for naps or something we would not have liked it. We found the convenience of staying at BWPPI, or The Disneyland Hotel to be pretty major, which is why we are trying Park vue inn. We need 2 rooms this time so staying at DLH is not an option for us this time. It depends also on the rate you are getting. If you can get a room there at the retro rate of 59 a night, it is really worth the walk!! because our grand son is just turning 3 and still naps, we really wanted to be right outside the park for easy trips back and forth so chose to forgo the fun of the water play area. so like my husband says this was probably bout as clear as mud for helping you decide

The Entertainment books are nation wide, and almost world wide. A card from any works at any location they are accepted and this includes the whole Hojo chain.

The Entertainment rate spoken of here is an extension of the Entertainment Book Rate that is specific to the Hojo Anaheim.

No you need to book with Hojo to get Hojo rates.
