What's the deal with Delta pricing?

I've been checking the Delta site daily for our October trip. About two weeks ago the N/S fares dropped from $279 to $249. Then I check again today and the 1/S fares are still $249, but the N/S jumped to $523 overnight!

What's the deal with that? I think I'll just wait until S/W opens up their Oct dates and drive to RDU....

I love to fly Delta, but this mess really ticks me off....

It could be that you are looking on a Friday. Last week we had a thread about Friday purchasing for airfare and it indicated that normally it's higher on the weekends. Best time is late Tues / early Wed am.

If you are travelling in September I am showing $98 R/t plus taxes and $156 R/t plus taxes in October. What is your main Airport besides RDU?


$207 All in on Delta in September and October!!

Delta - GSO or RDU. Prefer GSO b/c better flight times and don't have to worry about parking.

S/W - RDU.

CLT is just a bit too far.

There are multiple carriers out of RDU for just less than $200 all in for your time frame.

We live in GSO and have free (In-laws) transportation to and from the airport, saving about $60, so if the price is close, it's worth the few extra $ to stay closer to home.

Last year we booked out of RDU. When they changed our return flight to an earlier time, they re-booked us R?T out of GSO for no extra charge.

Please do me a favor and don't use Travelocity!!! Their "Guarantee" is worthless and if you get into a jam the odds are they won't help you out. I also sent you a site through pm to check out for air travel.
