Hi all,

Was talking to a DVC guide on the phone about buying into HH and said something about getting extra points for December 2000 or they were going to priced higher after 4/1/01? Anyone have any info? I got lost in what she was saying but hoping someone can make sense of it. I tried calling back but got voice mail. I want to buy in but I'd like to visit before I make the commitment. (which would be after 4/1/01) Thanks in advance for responding :) :)

Can Anybody answer this question??

From the recent posts on this board, there is supposed to be a change in the Magical Beginning program as of April 1. From the information in the posts, there is agreement that, at least for Villas at Wilderness Lodge purchases, Disney will no longer offer to buy back one half of your first year points at $10 per point but rather will offer to buy back points at $5 per point instead (some posts have indicated that one can sell back ALL of your first year points at the $5 per point rate). If you were not planning on selling back points under the Magical Beginnings program the change should not affect you. Furthermore, it is unclear from what I have seen whether the policy will apply to sales for Hilton Head or Vero Beach.

Sorry I can't help with more precise details, but that should help get you started I hope

I would ask your guide for more details. Points are going to be higher after 4/1? Maybe she gave you some inside info.....

Now I understand. I either use it kinda as a down payment for DVC or simply get the money back at 10/point. Thanks for the clarification :)

Tony

Just to clarify, the $10/point Magical Beginnings buyback has to be applied to your DVC purchase. When they do the paperwork, it shows as part of your downpayment or deposit.
