What's the cancellation policy for DLR?

Specifically, if I book a package for one of the DLR hotels (probably DL Hotel), either through Disney or AAA, for how long can I cancel for free? As it gets closer, I assume there's a fee. How much, at what points in time?

I know it must be in a FAQ somewhere, but I just searched the Disneyland web site and couldn't find it. Thanks much.

I was told 5 days cancellation notice when I booked DLH and that it takes 5-10 days for your deposit to be returned.

I think AAA cancellation is $100 at 30 days plus and more expensive as you get closer. Go to their website, it will tell you.

A package through Disney, or one of the places that goes through WDTC like Costco or AAA have the same policies:

I went to disneyland.com, went to Book, then Vacation Packages. Over on the right is a link to their brochure, and I looked through it to the end, with the small print. Zoomed in...

Once deposit has been paid, a fee is assessed each time a change or cancellation is made. The cancellation/change fees are per reservation and are as follows:

Days prior to arrival ...... Change ....... Cancel
30+ .......... $25 ........... $100
29-5 .......... $50 ........... $200
4-1 ......... $75 ........... 50% of package price

That appears to be different from when I booked a package, but this is the recent brochure with, I'm sure, the most updated info. When I booked our package with Costco, the info was the same as with disneyland.com, and I assume it's still the same, that the companies using WDTC all had the same change/cancel info.

For a reservation for the hotel only, made directly through Disney with a one night deposit held, you have 5 days prior to arrival date to cancel or change. If it's 4 days or less, your 1 nt deposit is non-refundable if you cancel.

I put this in here for others reading the thread. OP has a package.

Thank you, after reading the other responses and rereading the OP I realized I gave the wrong info for the question at hand. Thanks for the clarification.:)

Thanks all. I'm the OP, and I'm considering a package, but don't have one yet. Since I'm not 100% sure I can make the dates I have in mind, it sounds like I'd be better off making a hotel-only reservation, and buying park admission separately. According to the information in this thread, that way I could get 100% refund on the hotel up to 5 days before, rather than get $100 penalty. I should know whether I can go about a month before, at which time I could buy the park admission online. Does that sound right? Thanks much for the information.

I remember buying a one day hopper (online) 2 years ago and recieved a 20% discount, which we used at World of Disney. I had our family, my parents and DH parents putting everything on one bill, we ALL got the discount and were able to pay seperately. It made shopping more fun knowing we were saving so much money;) Just a FYI, look into it...

Sounds good!

I don't think the hotels have the 5 for 3 promo, but I could be wrong.

The hotels DO have the 5 for 3 promo but it's considered a package and thus subject to the cancellations above. I am considering this deal for a July trip but haven't decided, it's a LOT of $$ for us to spend on a hotel....
