Ok...I love BW, I own DVC there and that is where I stay the majority of the time. BUT.....I wouldn't make a concerted effort to get there and then have to worry about how to get back to my offsite resort.
What is there, along the boardwalk?? ESPN Zone....fine place to eat. And a shop next to it with sports merchandise. Then, you come to The Bakery. If you want a pastry, fine. Otherwise, not a huge deal. The pastries there aren't all the different than what you find everyplace else. Then, Kouzinna....nice restuarant, Greek style. Then you have the ice cream/candy shop....it is exactly that, ice cream and candy. And again, no different than anywhere else. Flying Fish is next...upscale restaurant..love it there, but it's pricey. Then you have the Village Green with the surrey bikes. Then you have Wyland Galleries (off to the side)..pricey glass stuff. As you mosie on down the boardwalk you come to The Screendoor...BWs general store. The typical Disney type stuff for sale, along with foodstuffs. Big River Brew is another restuarant...fine for a bite to eat. Then you have Jellyrolls....over 21 dueling piano bar, no food, only drinks, with a cover charge. Atlantic Dance Hall is last...have yet to head there, haven't heard much good about it.
And yes, there can be entertainers along the boardwalk itself..jugglers, magicians, piano player.
I guess if you are already there, it's fine. But I just never recommend heading there if you can't return to your hotel easily. If you really want to, you can head there, then take the bus to DTD (from BW) and head over to the Lynx bus stop by Cirque.
