What's the Best Way to Get to ESPN Club from HS????

Hi all!

What would be the best/fastest way to get to the ESPN Club from HS (MGM)???? We will be at HS this Saturday and my DH REALLY wants (HAS) to see the OSU/USC game! I would REALLY like to see it too. HS closes at 8pm and the game starts at 8pm.....so we need to get there as quickly as we can. OR does anyone have any other sugguestions as to where we could go to watch the game and maybe have a drink or two (besides our resort room)??? TIA!

take the boat from MGM to the Dolphin/Swan stop and walk the rest of the way on the Boardwalk to the ESPN Club. It will be a lot faster than waiting for the boat to get to the Boardwalk stop.

Just so you know, the ESPN Club fills up fast for big games, and I'd say this is a pretty big one! You should probably get there at least an hour early (depending on what else is on the slate on Saturday, it may be crowded from noon on).

If this is on ABC, which I am assuming it is, try a resort bar. The bar adjacent to the Yachtsman Steakhouse has a TV, as does the Tambu lounge at the Poly (may be crowded b/c of Ohana/Kona/free dining), and I believe the bar at the Wave at Contemporary does as well.

Also, Downtown Disney, the bar at Fulton's or House of Blues will have it on.

I would say the fastest way to get there would be the boat it goes from Hs to the Boardwalk.... But if you even want a chance of getting a seat on a game night then you should plan to be at ESPN at least an hour early if not earlier the seating fills up fast for a game, and most stay till the end of the game.

If you're leaving when the park closes...Walk! You'll have a longer wait for the boats because there will likely be more people. It's about a 15 minute walk from Studios to the Boardwalk. The walkway is right along the water and is very easy. It will take you 5 minutes anyway to walk from the Swan/Dolphin since they are at opposite ends of the Boardwalk. I agree that the ESPN club fills up quickly so don't expect to walk right in and be seated. It might be better to leave Studios earlier than closing.

Thanks so much for your responses!! I think I may just send DH and my cousin Mike (who is also traveling with us) over to watch the game. My sister & I can stay at HS and have fun with the kids. I am an OSU alum and I LOVE my Bucks....but I love hanging out at HS wit the kiddos too!

Walk - Big River has TVs too and some good beer - ESPN is THE place to watch football though - it is hard to get in though, but I always manage to squeeze my way in.

We like to walk. Boat takes too long for us, plus with the lines, you never know if you'll even get on that trip. We've beaten the boat every time. It's a nice relaxing walk.

Walk. The boat can take half an hour..it takes only 20 minutes, tops, to walk from DHS to ESPN...especially if the boat isn't at the dock. If the boat is there, then take it to the S/D and hop off there. Otherwise, you have to wait through the YC/BC stop before getting to BW. We did that last week....we were off the boat and crossing to beside Jellyrolls as the boat was going under the bridge between the S/D and YC!!

WALK

It is much faster than the boat even if you leave at the same time as the boat. Some say you can take the boat to the Dolphin and then walk from there since it is the first stop, but since you can cut through the pool area at BWV and get right onto the boardwalk on your way back from HS, it is still faster to walk. We do it all the time and it is a 10 minute walk from the gate to the boardwalk. Not sure how it would take 20 minutes like a previous post suggests unless you walk slow.

Get there early if it is a big game. They will get full and there will be a huge line - which will not move since everyone wants to stay for the entire game.
