Ok so i have a few camisole style tank tops which seem like they would be good to wear in the parks but do you think i would be better off with a very light weight cotton top with short cap sleeves?? We will be there in 2+ weeks. Also for the kids would they be more comfortable in sundresses, tank tops?

I would not wear tank tops.I would wear shirts that cover you up so you dont get sunburn

Maybe TMI here but I tend to sweat A LOT for a girl. And I get kind of stinky really fast.

I find that tank tops and any tops that fit tight under the armpits are AWFUL!

I like to wear semi-loose t-shirts. None of those "ladies fit" tees that are nice and snug, but looser, men's fit tees that I wear in size M or L. That seems to keep me fresher and more pleasant smelling than anything.

I was wondering the same thing before I went to Disney World last month, so I brought both styles of tops. And I was much more comfortable in my tank tops. I do have one very very think and loose top that worked well too, but otherwise my tanks were my go-to tops. The one day I wore a regular t-shirt I was miserable.

I am very fair skinned, so I made sure to put sunscreen on before leaving for the parks, and I had a small bottle that I kept in my tote bag so I could re-apply it as needed. And I didn't burn at all!:thumbsup2

Can I also suggest that you invest in some of the new perscription strength deodorant and anit-perspirent? I got some just for my trip, and it worked great. It is a bit more expensive than regular deodorant, but it was well worth it. Anything that can make me feel a bit cooler in 90+ heat is worth a few extra dollars.

since we are on this topic... can anyone recommend an anti-perspirant
that not just mask the problem like deodorant but help control it as well??

any prevention as well ??

I think both of your ideas are good, that is exactly what I wore at Disney. Either tank tops or very light weight cap sleeve shirts. There was one day that I wore a regular weight t-shirt and I was noticable hotter, and decided not to try that again.
For kids, I think the most important thing to consider is the weight of the fabric, anything light and loose is good. I try to stay away from heavy weight t-shirts or shorts and stick with mostly light weight dresses and tanks with skirts.
To the sunscreen comments, absolutely lots of sunscreen, especially with light weight clothes which sometimes don't offer as much sun protection as heavier fabrics.
Have a great trip!!!

disneyred--I tried Secret clinical protection, I think that is its name, and it was better than regular deo at preventing the sweat in the first place. hth!

thank you everyone. Ok i will bring a few camisole tops and see how that goes.

I wear moisture wicking shirts that you find in the workout section. They are light weight and dry fast if you go on a water ride. I got some at Academy and also I have found them at Ross and Marshals. Some of the Columbia brand shirts have sunscreen inside of them.
I would recommend clinical strength deodorant, it costs a lot more but well worth it. There is usually a $1-2 off coupon in the paper. Any brand will work. Also try Certain Dri (just search for it online), I use this on my feet and underarms. I have found it at Target and Wal-mart. When using these products do not use after shaving and wear old clothes the first night it is on.

Love my tank tops and shorts for the daytime. I have fancier t-tops and capris for our dinner ADRs.

You can have botox shot into your armpits and it paralyzes the sweat glands so you don't sweat at all. No sweat=no smell. It is covered under health insurance as "hyperhydrosis".

Also when I have my armpits waxed I noticed I sweat and smell much, much less-I think it must traumatize the sweat glands to have the hair yanked out of them. Plus there's no hair or follicle for the bacteria to grow on.

I always wear a straw cowboy hat when I'm there, it keeps the sun off my shoulders and face and back a bit. The sun will fry you, even with sunscreen.

I save the tank tops and camis for nighttime after the sun goes down.

I'm too large to wear tank tops so I wear only t-shirts. Just be sure they are light colored. Dark shirts absorb the heat. Be sure to wear lots of sunscreen whichever style you wear.

Dollar Tree has had some clinical deodorants recently. I don't remember which brand, but it was one of the $7.99 reg. price ones.

I live in tank tops when i am visiting disney world. I just bought some moisture wicking and built in sunscreen ones from sierra trading post and they seem to work very well! I feel like I would be too warm in t shirts.

In June I wore tanks and shorts during the day, and cap sleeved shirts and shorts at night. Worked great! During the day I used Banana Boat SPF 50. Never burned, only tanned.
