We will be trying Kona dinner for the first time on our upcoming trip. I looked at the menu and everything sounds delicious.:cloud9:

What have you ordered in the past and loved, appetizers, entrees, and desserts?:confused3 I personally love steak and was wondering how the ribeye or strip was at Kona. If the steaks aren't good though, I love all kinds of food.

Thanks for the input.:goodvibes

I enjoy the steaks at Kona and on my last visit I had the teriyaki steak which was very good. If I were going I would most definately order the chicken wings appetiser too, yum!! Always on the dining plan, I have to get the dessert to go because I'm always to full!

I have had the crab cakes appetizer and the shrimp and scallops dinner both twice and loved them. The chocolate banana creme brulee was also good.

My favorite things are the volcano roll from the Kona Island Sushi Bar, the duck pot stickers, and of course, that delicious pineapple bread with macadamia nut butter!

Just ate there about a week and a half ago for the first time.

Pot Stickers (no duck, was pork/veggie) and Kona Salad as Apps, NY Strip (mom had the pork I think?), Banana Creme Brulee dessert (Mom had...something else that I don't remember... man I'm bad at this). Everything was very tasty. I did notice that the steak itself didn't have much flavor to it, but the sauce was very good. Of course, I'm picky about my steaks and can't stand anything less than Medium Well, so it's partially expected (it's a taste and texture thing, sorry to real steak fans), it was a bit of a let down though. Overall, still very good.

Teriyaki NY Strip is delicious medium, we get the mashed potatoes with it.

I'm not fond of their desserts, but have yet to get an appetizer or entree I haven't loved. I've had the Volcano roll from the sushi place, sticky wings, and pot stickers for appetizers. For entrees my favorite is the tuna oscar with green tomato, but I also like the Pomegranite BBQ pork chop, the mahi mahi (if it's on the menu), and the Teriyaki strip steak. The best thing they have though is the bread.:lovestruc

My favorite is the pomegranate BBQ pork chop. You can also order sushi from the sushi bar next door if one of you is a fan of sushi. My favorite dessert is hands down the banana chocolate creme brûlée. My kids love the kona cone(an ice cream cone with a puff of blue cotton candy on top). I would also agree with the earlier posts that the best part of the meal is the pineapple bread with macadamia nut butter!!

I really liked the ribeye! I would suggest asking for the sauce on the side, because it can be a bit sweet. Then use the sauce on the mashed potatoes, YUMMY! Dbf LOVED his Tuna Oscar and the sweet potato/lemongrass soup. I had the duck stickers and thought they were just ok. The chocolate/banana creme brulee was flipping fantastic!!:cloud9:

I love the Kona Kone :lmao: Also the teryaki steak, potstickers, and even there little garden salad were all tasty.

My favorite meal from any Disney Restaurant is from Kona cafe. I love their coconut almond chicken. Here is the description from the dis: Coconut Almond Chicken - Sauteed chicken breast served with Asian greens tossed with honey lime dressing, golden pineapple, strawberries, and toasted almonds. - $16.99
I've actually tried making this at home and it turned out well but no where near as good as at the resaurant.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2OH MY YES:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

This is our favorite dish at Kona, and yes, I have made it at home and it's good but not the same!! IF you are on the DDP, it's a good deal to order the 3 course prix fixe meal; you get an appetizer as part of the deal with no extra charge or credits. We usually get the duck potstickers (although the wings are very good), the coconut almond chicken, and I don't know what for dessert. We aren't dessert folks... Kona used to have a key lime tart that was yummy, but this has been replaced by something (coconut creme tart?) that was mostly whipped cream and actually kinda nasty... and the chocolate fondue with fruit was about as tasty as Hershey's syrup...
