whats the best price you've gotten for a deluxe??

hi we are currently planning a april wdw trip. if the airfare doesn't go down, we will be looking at a summer or early fall trip. we are planning for all star movies in april but if we can't get decent airfare we will be looking to travel summer or early fall. what is the best price for a deluxe during summer/fall? april is pricey since it is peak season. i only want to book a myw package with dining. just wondering if summer brings any discounts like the fall does?? also if i book now, and a special promotion comes out will wdw travel company let me get the discounted price? sorry for so many questions, but i am confuses tia!!

I'm not sure if your taking best rate in April or best rate anytime, so I will give you mine just incase. I just got a rate for a standard room at AKL Feb 11-21, 2006 for 150.30 a night (rack rate $228.58) through the AP BRP.

i am paying the rack rate which is around 134 a night. how do you get the better room rate? also would i still get this price since i am purchasing a myw package with dining plan? i would love to stay at akl, my boys will love it! even if i have to change my dates

I have not really heard of any deluxe with a rack rate of $134, so I guess I'm not sure what you're asking.

The bottom line is that the questions you are asking are very complicated -- in many ways, this entire "codes and rates" board is dedicated to the questions you're asking. The best place to start is mousesavers.com, which lays it all out in good detail, and then come to these boards to ask specific questions, which usually get immediate and detailed answers.

In general, there are several categories of discounts: AAA, codes issued by disney, annual passholder discounts, and other unique discounts such as Florida State Resident discounts.

In general, the only way to get discounted packages is through AAA (you have to book using an AAA travel agent) or through disney, usually 3 to 5 months before your anticipated travel dates. The later is sporadic, and April is iffy.

Those are the basics. As noted, there's a whole level of complexity beyond that.

To answer your question directly, though, the best rate I have gotten on a deluxe was approximately $265 for the grand floridian garden view. Others have done better.

I know Contemporary Standard View rooms in the wing were $169 last spring with an AP. WL and AKL can be even cheaper, but their standard rooms sometimes are hard to come by.````````````

Swan/Dolphin has the best deals for a deluxe, and they have the benefits of the Epcot area deluxes without the high cost.
