I'm going on a week vacation to WDW for marathon weekend. I'll be going to the parks alone for a few days. What's the best park to travel solo to? And what are the best attractions to do alone? Thank you!!! :)

Not the answer you are after, but I think all the parks (except water parks) can be enjoyed alone.

A few times I've gone and taken a few snaps by myself, while my wife chills at the pool and reads. You can get lost for hours in them, and take your time.

EDIT: I also managed to bag FP for ToT and RnR one after another, with just 15 mins notice on early evening. I boat ride from Beach Club and I rode them within 15 mins of each other!

I vote any of them.

And, in any of them with the bigger rides, you can often jump into the single riders line and get through quicker.... (Test Track, RnR, Everest....)

All parks and all rides! I have had a couple solo days. One trip I was able to hit all 4 parks and all my fave rides (and treats). It was actually one of my most fun days ever. EE, RnRC and TT have single rider lines so you can usually get thru those faster than standby. I think it all depends on what you like to do. MK and AK are my fave parks, but of course you have your own opinion. =)

I did a solo vacation 2 years ago and honestly all parks were great. I particularly liked shopping on Main Street and really going in and looking at every shop as well as Epcot. I spent a lot of time looking around at little things. I also went to the spa at swan and walked around on the boardwalk. One thing I also learned was how quickly lunch/dinner go by when you are eating by yourself. I normally would plan on at least 60 minutes with the family but it only took about 30 total time when by myself at table service restaurants. My solo trip was also after a race (princess half). Have a great vacation!

I had lots of fun when I went solo to Epcot, especially World Showcase. The cast members were happy to chat, and I have some of my best memories with the people I met there. Plus, the sights are gorgeous! Take your time to really explore. It was my first time really, honestly looking at all the details (instead of rushing through) and it is so worth it. China, in particular, is one that I had always overlooked and it is gorgeous.

In my limited experience, rides and attractions are more fun with others, so I'd pick a park where you can walk around, enjoy the food and drink, and watch shows. Epcot is perfect for that.

I went to Epcot by myself for the first time this year and had a blast! I was able to take my time and enjoy the little things the family is often in a too much of a rush (or no in agreement on) to do.

As for best attraction, I'll make an exception to my first sentence and say Haunted Mansion. Typically, my family lets me ride this by myself while they go in another Doom Buggy, so I can soak it all in without any distractions :)

All of them! Solo in any Disney park is an awesome experience. Just decide which park or parks sound most interesting to you and don't give heading there solo a second thought. There's more to do in MK, more to eat (and drink!) in Epcot, less walking in DHS, and animals, animals, animals at AK. Find your fun! Also, single-rider at Everest rules the world.

Why not the water parks?

Maybe it's just that I've mostly only been to the water parks when I've been alone (only once have I been to WDW with another person who was remotely interested in water parks). I'll admit that I tend to feel "done" with the waterparks earlier in the day and wouldn't devote more than a day or two to them out of any given trip, but they can be plenty of fun alone. I tended to prefer Blizzard Beach because there were more single person slides, but either is fun.

As for the OP, it really depends on what you're into. Is your focus on attractions? On strolling through the parks for the sights and the shopping? On shows? Any of the parks can be done alone and be a lot of fun, it just depends on your personal taste. As for myself, weirdly enough I seemed to end up at Animal Kingdom the most often on my solo days off during my college program. Couldn't tell you why, really, just seemed like where I wanted to be a lot of the time.

This is also my vote! I have been there solo many times and I do everything everyone else does. If you enjoy it with people, do it alone. Also, last trip I did resort hopping for the first time and had a blast. No park tickets!

Animal Kingdom. I love to go on the Pangani Forest trail to see the gorillas first thing when the park opens. After that the Safari ride and then I just take in all the beauty Animal Kingdom has to offer. Lunch at Tusker house is a must do also. I think I choose Animal Kingdom because the people I go with usually don't appreciate it in the same way, so on a solo trip I can really slow down and enjoy it.

Personally I think they are really best enjoyed with others. Are there not restrictions on some of the raft based rides too?

Not as many as you might think, really. The only ones that spring to mind were the one really big family raft ride at Blizzard Beach, and iirc only one of the water coasters at Typhoon Lagoon requires two riders per tube. The others I was able to ride by myself (just sat on the back half of a two person tube), and I was able to ride the two person slide by waiting around at the entrance until I met an odd-numbered party (it wasn't any better than the other slides, so I didn't bother doing that more than once).

I guess it's personal preference, and the social aspect is a big part of why I preferred Blizzard Beach. I'll get bored just swimming around in a pool by myself (even a wave pool), but slides keep my interest.

I LOVE Animal Kingdom. Last trip, I did resort hopping, so I had no park tickets. I went to AKL and spent an hour in a stairwell taking pictures of giraffes. Would I have been able to do that with a big group of people? Probably not.

think you need to go to your favorite park. love all the parks solo. but really enjoy Epcot and MK.

100% agree! If you like to go there with people, you will probably like to go there alone too!

I didn't read all the answers so this may have been said, but: is there a park where you love to do things that your travel mates don't? Browsing the World Showcase? Riding IASW over and over? Seeing certain shows they're not keen on? If I had a trip where I had a limited amount of solo time, I'd use it doing favorite things that I know my travel mates aren't as enthusiastic about.

I am planning my first solo trip at the end of the month. My thoughts are that I will be more comfortable on rides like HM or Spaceship Earth where I'll have a ride vehicle to myself as opposed to Pirates or Great Movie Ride where I could be on a bench with another family. That's just me, though.

They will often put you on a bench alone if they can. I have honestly sat next to other people on rides before (think rides such as Test Track in WDW or Radiator Springs Racers in DL), and it is no big deal. I even got stuck on a ride with another family once. I also have eaten at Sci Fi twice with another family in front of me. They will either exchange pleasantries with you, or they will keep to themselves and ignore you. Either way, I've never felt awkward.

I guess it all depends on where your favorite rides are. For me it's always Magic Kingdom first and later I head to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. Animal Kingdom is always the last park I visit.
