For me it would have to be the Grand Floridian - but others will have their on ideas

Hi Shelly Welcome to the DIS :)

If money is no object I vote for Disney's Polynesian Resort :) I haven't stayed there but it is where we got married.

For WDW resorts I think any of the Deluxe's seem perfect choices ~ you need to have a look at them all and pick one which has theming which appeals to you. If you are looking for somewhere romantic, I would consider Polynesian or Grand Floridian. Both are wonderful, but I prefer the Polynesian with 3 young children. However, if it was just DH and I then it would be the Grand.

If money were no object, I'd plump for Grand Floridian myself. Right on the monorail loop, right next to MK and a lovely atmosphere. I imagine it is very romantic.

Absolutely, definately the Grand Floridian. If its romance and Disney then surely it cant be beaten.
Sitting on your balcony and watching the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom is priceless.

It's a very personal question to answer for someone else, My choice, on Disney property, would go to the Yachtclub hotel (It has a slightly more "grown up" atmosphere to it, whereas the BC has a more "kids friendly" feel to it). While I agree the GF is a stunning hotel, with a great location for the MK, IMHO for a young couple the Y+B club location possile offers a little more for their entertainment. Epcot and it's restaurants are a big bonus, the Boardwalk area offers a number of bars, restaurants and clubs in staggering distance of the hotel. The Y+B club themselves have some excellent restaurants and bars and the Swan and Dolphin compliment those choices with a couple of spectacular restaurants. You also have easy access to 2 parks ( MGM Studios and Epcot) as opposed to just the MK. Final clincher IMHO is the stunning pool area that the Y+B club share. It's all a matter of tiny degrees because all of the following are excellent hotels and would be a wonderful choice but in this case I would go in the following order 1) Yacht club 2) GF 3) Beach club 4) Animal Kingdom Lodge 5) Poly 6) Boardwalk Inn . However if you were to consider ( or want) to stay in a condo style one bedroom unit ( with kingsize bed in the master suite with ensuite jacuzzi, living/dining room and full kitchen) as offered by the DVC resorts I could make a pretty good argument for adding in Old Key West somewhere and changing the order a bit. Obviously for someone that has a particular love for a south sea Island theme or even the "woodsy" feel of Wilderness Lodge.

Just to confuse you.... my advice is to read the reviews on tripadvisor. They are great and just when you think you have found your perfect hotel a reviewer throws a spanner in the works!! Seriously, its a real help and I cannot recommend it enough. Although i am constantly amazed at the wealth of information of this brilliant site and the kindness of all the people who write the posts. :sunny:

However, you should remember to take TripAdvsior reviews with a pinch of salt. People are more likely to take the time to comment if they have had a bad stay, than if they have had a good stay. Don't take the reviews at face value ~ go with your own choice of resort and form your own opinion. Justy because some people have had a bad experience, it does not mean you will :)

Following on from your helpful Universal hotel info - can you tell me about AKL - I notice you have stayed there. We are booked in for 8 nights next month. Any tips/advice on what to do, best times to see things, hotel tours, characters - anything at all would be great - thanks!
