Whats the Best Hotel In Disney ???

you would have liked OKW when it was new. they had all the bed stuff, plus the beds were soft.

hated it - back problems. - So I slept on the sleeper sofa in the livingroom in a 1-bedroom.

in a studio slept on the floor.

just like the harder beds - they are great for my back. So sorry you don't.

the other bed stuff I guess like some of the other things I loved about OKW - visitors took them away. they have nicer sheets, definitely nicer towels, more pillows on the bed.

the other marriotts I have stayed at - well I can't tell a difference in DIsney and Marriott as far as beds go.

what I didn't like about the marriott timeshares is all the work they want YOU to do.

take the sheets off the beds, towels, and where to stack them. put the dishes in the dish washer and start it. clean out the refrigerator.

this is a timeshare not a house.

oh one more thing they have a check list for me to look and see if everything was there when I checked in....

now I don't know what they would have done if I didn't to do these things - charge me extra or what. but it was irrating.

I do all of that at DVC before I leave. I kinda thought everyone did. :confused3

As far as the hard beds, I think you are in the minority, which is why most better hotels are finally going to pillowtops.

I am allergic to down and feathers, so I don't like that most better hotels are all going that route as well, but I call in advance and ask them to remove all down and feather bedding prior to my arrival. I've never had a "good" hotel that didn't, except the Sagamore, but they dropped the ball on just about everything, so I don't consider them a "good" hotel. Just an overpriced 2* riding along on a historical name. :rolleyes1

I have to agree. For what you get, Disney is very over priced. We have stayed at some very nice hotels for a lot less then 300.00 a night, and that was a deal at Disney for CR. For that kind of money 3-4 hundred dollars I feel that should be concierge! I have no idea how people justify paying so much for free snacks and water. IMOP:confused3

I normally don't include full quotes but in this case I will. This is exactly why we no longer stay at club level and why you'll also find us at Values some of the time and SoG a lot of the time. WDW is becoming more expensive by the day and we have better ways to spend money. Besides that we don't stay in the room much in any event. Disney sure doesn't have much of a problem filling their rooms though. If I were younger I'd go with DVC, but in our stage of live that's a ridiculous investment. Oh well.

WDW resorts I have stayed at listed in order of favorite to least favorite, 1 is favorite.

1) WL
2) GF
3) AKL
4) YC
5) BWI
6) Poly
7) DL (POR)

I would give you 3, Wilderness Lodge since I love the mountain lodge theme,Polynesian since I also love the atmosphere and it's on the monorail line and Beach Club for it's theme, Stormalong Bay,proximity to the Boardwalk and that you're a 5 minute walk away to EPCOT and 15 to Hollywood Studios. If I had to rank them:

1.Beach Club
2.Polynesian
3.Wilderness Lodge

It really all depends what you what in a resort. I actually like Pop Century because it reminds me of another park. I love the atmosphere and I don't like many of the deluxe resorts, because they seem kind of boring in comparison.

We only stayed at POR and Poly - I would have to say I like the Poly the most but POR is a great value especially for a family of 5.

Just one comment on disney's deluxe resorts. Disney's deluxe resorts are not the same as a deluxe hotel in the real world. W/Disney you are paying for location, proximity to a theme park, more transportation options then buses (boats/monorail) and a themed experience. Disney is ranking their resorts in comparison to each other not the real world.

I think to each his own. If you don't want to stay onsite and spend the extra $ then don't. If you do then stay onsite. Everybody has to decide what works and whats best for their family situation. I agree the offsite hotels are not far away at all & this definitely maybe an option for our family down the road. We spend a lot of days at MK so an offsite hotel wouldn't be a good choice for us at this point. Personally I wouldn't feel like I was at disney if I didn't stay onsite but thats me & my family.

I have to agree that I think the Disney hotels are so overpriced, but it is Disney! I love the CR. That would probably be my first choice. Although I love the look of Boardwal, but haven't stayed there--would love to try it. But I am also a fan of the All Stars as I think they are great and fun and the price is really extremely reasonable. Haven't stayed at Pop, but it's probably the same, looks alot of fun.
