What's the best character meal you've been to?

First off, let me tell you which ones we have been too...

1900 PF (dinner)
Cape May
H & V (back when it was Jo Jo's Circus/Little Einstein char)

Of all of those, Cape May was our fave...followed by 1900 PF.

Next trip we are doing quite a few char dining b/c we are taking our little boys who will be 3 & 4 for their 1st WDW trip :)

For a child I'd say Crystal palace or Chef Mickey's but as an adult we really enjoy (we being my group of friends and our husbands) 1900 Park fare. Lady Tremaine and the step sisters were a riot and really play well to an adult crowd. We loved them, and apparently they loved us because they kept coming back to our table whenever they had a free moment.

Also, the food at 1900 Park Fare is amazing! Dinner there was the best buffet I've been to at WDW.

Overall, it's defnitely the princess meal at Disneyland Paris. It really puts ours to shame here (both WDW and DLR). There was a price fixe menu with some amazing choices (no buffet) and the amount of characters were amazing. Many princesses, princes, and Cinderella's mice were on hand. There was a dance floor and each prince/princess took a turn dancing. A wonderful meal.

At WDW, our favorite is Tusker House for the food but for overall atmosphere, we like Cape May.

Breakfast at Cape May Cafe was the best overall. Good food. Good service. Good characters.

We had great character interaction at Garden Grill, which included Mickey Mouse! The food was pretty good, but not great!

The food is good at Crystal Palace, but the characters seem rushed, and well Pooh and friends aren't my favorites.

I really used to love LTT - lots of good interaction...but it is no longer a character meal.

We enjoyed breakfast at 'Ohana. The characters were great, especially Stitch. We also enjoyed it being "family style" since everything is brought to your table -- no time wasted having to get up and juggle plates of food.

We have been to many character meals, and 'Ohana is my family's favorite (Akershus breakfast is a very close second). The character interaction was the best we have ever had (Pluto and Stitch were especially great with my then 15-month old DS). Food was good, I really like the juice and the mickey waffles.

Overall, this is how I'd rank the character meals we have been to so far:
1. Ohana
2. Akershus breakfast
3. Cinderella's Royal Table lunch
4. Tusker House breakfast
5. Crystal Palace dinner
6. Akershus dinner
7. Chef Mickey's dinner (only last place bc of food, would be in 3rd for character interaction)

That said, we are going to give Chef Mickey's another try this year. We are returning to Akershus, Tusker House, and Ohana for breakfast, and trying Cinderella's Royal Table and Crystal Palace for breakfast for the first time. We are also going to try Garden Grill for the first time....I have heard great things about it.

We really enjoy character meals (especially at breakfast). The kids have so much fun, and we always find plenty that we like to eat.

I used to love Liberty Tree!! Miss it - loved the costumes and interaction.

#1 CRT - had an early morning ADR. Worth it to see my 6 and 4 yr old girls meet the princesses. And got a nice bonus of the breakfast actually being pretty good.

#2 CP - had great interactions with the characters, esp. Tigger! Good food too and my 6 yr old loved making her own sundae - more like would you like some ice cream with your sprinkles.

Funny, the most awesome and hilarious experiences I had dining with characters (the former Land Grille Room in EPCOT and Ariels' in DCA) both took place during my adult years. A lot of it had to do with the company we had (all adults) and the fact that we... weren't aware that the characters would show up. Nothing livens up dinner with friends like random princesses and fursuits. :lmao:
