Trying to recommend to future mother in law the best 2 TS restaurant. She is looking at the Brown Derby but I think there might be something better out there for them to try

What do you think?

I really like Brown Derby. That being said, it does not rank up there with the 2TS restaurants elsewhere. It's a good restaurant, but I don't think it's worth 2 TS.

Jiko is really popular on these boards as is California Grill.

Im going to second Jiko and California Grill - they are our favorites and we cannot wait to go again next summer!

That said, it might be important to match a restaurant that appeals to her tastes. What does she like about Brown Derby? Which dishes is she most interested in?

That would go a long way toward choosing a better 2 TS place.

Everyone has different tastes. Even my favorites have changed over the years or even from visit to visit. I eat at all of these regularly (only one I have not eaten at in past 12 months). For me, the current order is:

Flying Fish, Citricos, Jiko, Brown Derby, Ca Grill, Artist Point, Yachtsman and then Narcoosees.

IMO, the best restaurants are those not on the dining plan, V&A, bluezoo and Il Mulino. I've also loved Bistro de Paris but have not been this year and recent reports have said it's been noisy and become a family dining atmosphere over a fine dining atmosphere.

Well her and her husband have never been to Disney and with the free dining I think they maybe feeling overwhelmed at the choices. They both have quite broad tastes so I don't think there is a particular type of food they are after. As they are coming to Disney to see us get married I want to make sure that their experience is not just good but amazing!

My first thoughts were Jiko and California Grill so its nice to hear that others think so too!

If this is their first trip to WDW then I'd go with CA Grill particularly if they could enjoy the fireworks from there.

That said, I prefer the food at Jiko. What can you do?

We ate at all but Jiko and Hbd. They were all good. I think my best meal was at Artist Point. The only one I really did not care for was California grill.

Just too add If your only going to one I would pick Citricos. Its the most fancy as my son would say and the food is awesome. Its also at the beautiful GF which is worth a trip to see.
