What's That Resort Scent?

OOOH that one is EASY.:thumbsup2 It is the smell of hundred dollar bills going up in smoke.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Just kidding sorry I couldn't resist.:confused3

You sound like my husband! My 10 yr old son talks about "smell that Disney smell" and often remarks while we are shopping at an outdoor shopping mall in Destin, FL "I love coming here- it has that Disney Smell" and my husband usually has that look that comes knowing he's about to spend some money:)

Ok, where are you finding out this info from? I would love to know the scent of POP Century. DH and I discuss it everytime we are there. I love it. Anyone know what it is or where to find it out?

anyone know if csr has a smell?

hey that's a great marketing idea for disney... the could make like scentstories or fragrances, of different parks or resorts!

Does anyone know the name of the scent in the Polynesian? We stayed there in April, on our first visit to WDW. It is so beautiful there. I hope that someone can tell me the name of the scent they use. I did some searching online and saw in another thread that Disney uses a system called ScentAir. I went to their website hoping it might tell the scents of the resorts but it does not.

I stayed at BC and AK in March. Here it is posted that they have the same scent, Green Clover and Aloe. I am pretty darn sure they are different smells.

Anyone else think this?

Possibly. Even if it is the same "scent" I am sure it appears different because the smell I notice most in AK is the smell of the fire pit and of the cooking at Boma/Jiko. But, I've never stayed there so I can't comment on the room areas.

I wonder if this is how they get the smells on Soarin, and Philhamagic.

Thanks to someone bumping this thread I just realized that I never received my free trial scents:sad2:

Does anyone know what the scent at the YC is? all my boys talk about all year long is how much they love the smell at the YC.:dance3:

Hi, In the GF that distinct smell to me is the STARGAZER LILIES that they use in their HUGH flower arrangements. Anytime I smell one (right now I have some in my kitchen that I picked in my garden this morning) I close my eyes and I am at the GF!! :goodvibes Joan

YES - I agree, it's the stargazers. That was my wedding flower and it has a very distinct (and sometimes strong) smell and that definitely is at the GF. The Wilderness Lodge lobby smells like BBQ from Whispering Canyon. I'm still trying to figure out the Poly!!

I LOOOVE the smell of the Boardwalk lobby - it feels like I'm officially on vacation. If someone could tell me what scent that is, I would buy it immediately. How did you find out about the Beach Club scent?

I always talk about that "Disney smell", too. Walking to the bus or boat stop early in the morning, everything smells fresh and clean. And the scents in the resorts, not too overpowering, but defintely a distinctive scent.

It is the parent company of Enviroscent that supplies the scents to the rides, resorts, and park shops. I did a bunch of research on this topic when I got home from our march trip, after falling in love with the lobby scent at Yacht Club! (Yacht Club, at the time was also pumping in the Green Clover & Aloe scent) -- they change it at Christmas time to a gingerbread they told me.

Anyway, Enviroscent is a site for the general public to purchase their scents from.

The parent company is called Scentair. It's cool to look through their scents on their website, you can make good guesses of which ones are going to disney parks for sure! I also learned that this company was founded by a former Disney CM! Smart cookie right?!?

Here is the email I received from a CM at Yacht Club following my inquiry on my trip:

Hello Cheryl,

One of my Cast Members, Andres Morales, let me know that you were interested in the scent we use in our lobby. We have partnered with a company called Scentair and we actually have the scent placed in our HVAC (AC) system. We currently are using a scent called Green Clover and Aloe. For more information you can visit their website at : www.scentair.com

Sincerely,

Cathy Anderson | Administrative Support | Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

Here's an article about Scentair's founder:

ScentAir was founded in 2000 using patented technology created by a former Walt Disney scientist, David Martin, whose charge was to find a way to pump specific smells into Disney's theme park attractions.

It's really very interesting to read about the psychology of scents !

Thank you for this info! I also fell in love with the YC lobby scent a few weeks ago during our stay! I would love to be able to enjoy it in our home. I already miss it dearly!

Bumping this thread. :goodvibes
Hoping that someone knows what the scent is that they use at the Grand Floridian.
