What's so special about Oct 18th at BWV?

We are waitlisted for either a pref view studio or a standard view 1BR at BWV on Oct 18th, and I notice that we are not the only ones. That seems to be the only date that is full in October so far, per the Dis thread, does anyone have an idea why? It is a Sunday. I know it is during Food & Wine, but that one day just seems so random! Are they doing work to some of the rooms that day or something?? Of course that day is slap in the middle of our 2 week Disneymoon, so I hope it comes through!!

I know that is right in the middle of the Food & Wine festival, and the Epcot resorts are VERY difficult to get at that time. I was at BCV at that time last year, and it was very busy. I had to go on the waitlist for 1 day at BCV at the 7 month window, and for me, the waitlist came thru 9 days before the trip. For many people waitlisted at 7 months, the waitlist never came through for the Epcot resorts. Where is this DIS thread you refered to? I'm going to try for BCV again at 7 months this year, and I'd be interested if there've been any reports yet.

I know that the F&WF is crazy busy, but it's just weird that only this one day is booked for both a 1BR and a Studio. We have reservations for the 12-25, and are just wait-listed for the 18th. Weird.

It's possible that some people are there for a long weekend and Sunday is their last night and others are just coming in on Sunday so they overlap.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also. Well, we will keep our fingers crossed, and if that doesn't work, we will stay somewhere else for a couple night- SSR or AKL probably
