What's so bad about Stitch?

As you can see, I have never been to WDW. So, why does everybody dislike Stitch so much? (I don't remember DL having Stitch when I was there.) Go ahead, let it out, make me understand! Does anyone love him??

It's not that people dislike Stitch, quite the opposite. It's just that Stitch's "ride" is absolutely horrible. Probably the worst Disney thing has created in recent years.

What makes the ride so bad?

I don't have a problem with Stitch, he's a funny and mischievous character.

The Stitch attraction needs a lot of work and they kind of overdid him when they were pushing the attraction. I think folks got tired of seeing him everywhere.

(Donning my flame-retardant gear) Actually, I don't care for Stitch and especially Lilo. I was terribly dissappointed in the movie, which seemed to glorify really bad behavior. Admittedly, I've never seen the sequel, and my kids love the series, but I don't care for it. Just too much acting like spoiled BRATS for my taste, even if the overall moral of the story is a good one. Just my opinion, what do I know?

I like it. Once I reached over and grabed DH neck in the dark when stitch is sniffing and he screamed so loud.:rotfl2:

Love Stitch....not crazy about his um....smell.

What is it with WDW making me smell bad things? ITTBAB has that stink bug, Journey to Imagination makes me smell a skunk.....

The ride isn't bad, it's just the idea that there is confusion as to exactly what's supposed to happen and how it just ENDS all of a sudden. There so many random dark parts and other stuff that when the lights come back, Stitch leaves, and bam it's over....I was like huh?

It's still a fun ride but at the end of the day Alien Encounter was better and actually had a story you could follow.

My Username say's it all....... I love him!!!!! Stitch is one of my fav.'s and he is so fun to meet at Disney World, he makes me laugh. I am looking forward to going to O'hana's for breakfast this Dec., so I can have my breakfast with Lilo & Stitch!!!! :cloud9: And I think I am one of the few ones that you will hear say this, but I love the ride and think it is sooooo funny!

I actually liked the ride too. It was fun just watching my DS 6's expressions of surprise! We did it twice.

Had you ridden Alien Encounter prior you would understand.

Imagine if they decided that the pirates on POTC were too scary and removed them all, but left the water explosions and hydraulics that moved some of the characters around. Thats how Stitch's ride feels to me.

It just seems that they took down Alien Encounter for being too scary and not family friendly and then were left with the task of "How do we tame this extremely scary ride down?", and they just whipped some crap together.

**RIDE SPOILER**

For example, at one point Stitch is jumping around the room and they decided that it would be fun to move your harness up and down. Now this may sound cute, but theres two problems with it:

1. Its happening to everyone in the room at the same time so you lose the effect of him just jumping on YOUR shoulders because you can hear the noise all over the room, and

2. It doesn't even feel right, it feels like someone decided to play with the switch for the harness and turn the ride off, then on, off, then on.

**END SPOILER**

Im sure some people enjoy the ride, but I would guess that the majority of those people are either young kids or people who have never been on Alien Encounter.

they massacred AE which was a totally inventive attraction, something WDW doesn't build anymore. too many people cried about how scary AE was, and WDW dumbed it down to an attraction with no story whatsoever.

we braved it at the AP preview and haven't been back since. it's a horrible attraction.

I totally agree with this.

It's a terrible attraction. And the smell-o-vision thing is way overused.

Stitch is not my favorite but I don't mind him. He is a little obnoxious. I do not like the ride at all and neither did dh or the 13yo boy and 11yo girl we had with us. We actually did baby swap I got on with the 2 kids while dh stayed with our younger dd while we were in line the 2 kids were fighting over who got to get on a second time with my husband. When the ride was over they were fighting over who had to get on with dh, neither wanted to LOL the 13yo boy (my bil) finally caved in and did it again so dh didn't have to go alone but I thought it was funny. I can't point to what I truely hated about it just a little of everything- the smell really put me over the edge though.

i have to disagree. i think Mission Space is the worst ride Disney has created in recent years.

Disney has a lot of "bad behavior" in it's movies. i mean, look at Aladdin. he stole for a living.

When the harness comes down on you in Stitch, it comes down too tight IMO. The first time, I was hurting the whole time and when Stitch "jumped", it was really painful. So now I sit up really tall when it comes down and once its in place, I sit normally. The harness sits right above my shoulders but I can still feel when Stitch jumps. And that SMELL is really bad too. My son loves the ride, so I go on it at least once with him everytime.

I didn't actually dislike it, I found it a little boring compared to say buzz lightyear ride. We went on the attraction in August so it was nice for getting out of the heat and there wasn't a wait.

Like others have said, it is not the character Stitch that everyone dislikes, it is the attraction, Stitch's Great Escape that everyone is complaining about. I adore the character Stitch, he's so cute and funny.

But, I too dislike the attraction. First, I was very disappointed when they took out Alien Encounter. But, I was willing to give the Stitch attraction the benefit of the doubt.

As one previous poster said, there is no plot or story to follow along with. I was confused from the beginning with that. :confused3

The animatronic Stitch is awesome. :thumbsup2

The "burp'' smell is absolutely awful. It stayed with me for hours. I could not get rid of it. :crazy2:

My children were not impressed with the attraction and they love Lilo and Stitch, so needless to say we probably won't be doing that attraction again.

Nothings wrong with him he's a great original character and fun to watch. As far as his ride goes, its not the worst ride ever, that POOH ride can fill that title. The ride is actually really entertaining, it's NOT that bad.

(Mission Space is awesome too)
