What's probably NOT booked up for first week of December?

We JUST decided to go to WDW Dec 1-6 and I'm wondering if we have ANY chance of getting some ADR's.

What times are last to be snatched up?
Which restaurants?

Please help!

Judging from hotel availability, that is going to be a pretty busy week from what I've been reading. We've had better luck with last minute ADRs with restaurants outside the theme parks. Couldn't get dinner at the MK on a MVMCP night for that week so we are going to try Kona. Had no problems getting in there. Also, the Boardwalk restaurants didn't seem as booked at the Epcot restaurants. DH got us an ADR for Spoodles when everything we felt like at Epcot was already full.

I suggest calliing Disney DIning and asking what is still available. Most CMs are very helpful.

You'll probably have better luck at resort and dtd restaurants, but you never know, there could be some cancellations :)

Since I've never done this I may ask silly questions!

Can I simply call and ask "What's available in Epcot for Dec. 1?"?
Or do I need to ask for a specific restaurant on a specific day?

I thought this wasn't supposed to be a busy time of year :( Please tell me it at least won't be as busy as when I went i June a couple years ago!

I've heard of people calling Disney Dining while in a theme park and ask, "I'm the Magic Kingdom/Epcot/Studios/AK. Are there any restaurants in this park that are available right now for a party of (number)?" Walkups might get turned away, but sometimes you'll get an ADR.

Unfortunately, I haven't tried doing that last-minute "I'm here, what's available within 30 minutes to an hour from now?" thing. I'd love to see what random ADR I could get.

I think going outside the parks (resorts, DTD) is a good plan, especially when you're at Epcot or the Studios. Last October I had lunch at the Dolphin (Picabu cafeteria), and they had a good lunch selection. They serve a LOT of food, so the lunch specials can be split among third world nations. ;)

If you can't get any ressie's at Epcot on the days you are looking for, I would try one of the restaurants at BW or YC/BC-it's just a short boat ride from Epcot. We tried Cape May Cafe for breakfast and got ressie's the day before-with characters. The food was great and the character interaction was the best I've seen. DS got his picture taken with Minnie, Goofy and Dale all at the same time. I've also heard that their clam bake buffet in the evening's are great too. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be able to score some good ones.

Don't get discouraged. We just booked a very last minute trip for Dec 18-28 and were convinced there would be nothing available. However, we were able to book almost everything we wanted!! A couple of our times are not the ideal time we would have chosen, but it was a small trade to eat where we wanted! I did call and say that we wanted a CP package at Epcot for a certain day, the CM did have to go through each restaurant individually, but they were happy to do it and we did find a reservation!

This is a big YMMV. I've been calling hoping to get a CP package for the Sat. after Thanksgiving, & some CMs will look for you & tell you everything that's available. Others will make you call off every restaurant, before they'll check. That's a pain! :headache: Good luck getting what you want. :wizard:

How many are there in your party? I´m just asking because we have a couple of ADR´s for this week we´re probably going to cancel.

I hopy you have better luck than I have been having. I tried to book CRT breakfast and it is (of course) booked Dec. 3-9. I also tried to book the Garden View Tea Dec. 3-8, which I have never had a problem getting and found that it is also booked. The CMs encouraged me to keep calling because they often get cancellations. I guess persistance is key!

I was able to get Tusker House for dinner and Coral Reef for lunch. I'll still keep calling for le Cellier, since that was our favorite when we were on our disneymoon. Can't get enough of those pretzel breadsticks!

Freyja - There are four adults and a baby (so five total, I guess). Let me know what you're canceling! How old is your LO going to be on their first trip?

Unfortunately you won´t be able to use our ADR´s then. There will be 7 of us in total (they count the baby). He´ll be 6 months :) How about your little one?

Maybe I could call right after you cancel? I'm not quite sure how it works! My DD is six months now - she'll be 9 months when we're there. Exciting, isn't it!?

12/2- Boma @ 6:15pm,
12/4- Coral Reef @ 1:25pm,
12/6- Tusker House @9:05am,
12/7- Kona Café @ 8:20pm,

This is what I might cancel if you´re interested. If not, I was intending on keeping them and then cancelling them when we´re there and know how the days turn out for us. However, since you´re a party of 5 I´m not sure you would get these ADR´s, considering they´re for a party of 7.

Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe you should hang on to them - that will be nice to have some flexibility once you're there. Thanks though!

BW IPO was able to get me a lunch reservation at Tutto Italia for 12/7 just the other day. Good luck!

Here's where we often can get last minute seating:
The Turf Club (SSR)
Olivia's (OKW)
Shutter's (CBR)
(sometimes) Maya Grill (CSR)
Also, Pepper Market at CSR has a good counter service food court.
We will also go to Big River Grille with no ADRs.
And in worse case we will use the ol' RFC Safari Club card and get front of the line seating, which means usually a 5 - 10 minute wait at most.

Maya Grill is delicious. Can't go wrong there. And one of the best steaks on property (we think) is at Turf Club. Although the beef tips at Maya are wonderful. I would definitely say Maya Grill has the best chicken on property.

I just booked a trip for right after T-giving, and I'm having some REAL problems getting the reservations we want......someone on the main board said it had to do with PIN codes? Is it that, or is it expected to be busier than normal?

Doesn't help we are a party of 5, so I'm having problems getting Chef Mickeys, Ohaha, 1900, etc.
