Winnie the Pooh today! And I'm going to take something out and replace it with Kim Possible. But what should I take out...

Black holes, unlike their common image, do not necessarily suck up all the matter in the vicinity. They can act as "cosmic vacuum cleaners", but not as much as some people might think.[85] The collapse of a star into a black hole is an explosive process, which means, according to Mass–energy equivalence, that the resulting black hole would be of lower mass than its parent object, and actually have a weaker gravitational pull.[86] The source of the confusion comes from the fact that a black hole exists in a space much smaller but orders of magnitude more dense than a star, causing its gravitational pull to be much stronger closer to its surface. But, as an example, were the Sun to be replaced by a black hole of the same mass, then the orbits of all the planets surrounding it would be unaffected. This is because "if you're outside the event horizon, you can just keep going around in circles around [a black hole], in exactly the same way that you can be in orbit around any other kind of mass."[87]

So wait... That episode of Doctor Who with the appearance of the Ood is incorrect? Well, not incorrect Per-say, but it's not really an impossible planet, is it?

Cauliflowers Fluffy and cabbages green
Strawberries are sweeter than any I've seen
Beetroots purple and onions white
All grow steadily day and night

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed

Blackberries are juicy and rhubards sour
Marrows fattening hour by hour
Gooseberries hairy and lettuces fat
Radishes round and runner beans flat

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed

Orangey carrots and turnips cream
Reddening tomatoes that used to be green
Brown potatoes in little heaps
Down in the darkness where the celery sleeps

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
The broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed, Yea!

That was my favourite hymn at primary school :teeth:

It is a common myth that an earthworm becomes two worms when cut in half. However, only a limited number of earthworm species[103] are capable of anterior regeneration. When most earthworms are bisected, only the front half of the worm (where the mouth is located) can survive, while the other half dies.[104] Also, species of the planaria family of flatworms actually do become two new planaria when bisected or split down the middle.[105]

Made me think of one of my R. L. Stine books.

The correct answer to the Monty Hall Problem is that the contestant should indeed switch doors, as it increases the chances of winning the desired prize. The original problem is typically stated as follows. On a game show, there are three closed doors, one hiding a car and each of the other two doors concealing a goat. The contestant, wishing to win the car, selects a door. The door remains closed while the host, knowing where the car is hidden, proceeds to reveal a goat behind one of the remaining doors, and then offers the contestant a chance to switch his or her initial choice of door to the other closed door. Should the contestant switch? The correct answer is that the contestant should switch, as it doubles the chances of winning the car. Although the answer seems counter-intuitive to many people, it can be proven with a proper understanding of the original problem and the mathematics of conditional probability.

I really pissed off one of my friends with this. It made me laugh :p Speaking of which, has anyone every read The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time.

A penny dropped from the Empire State Building will not kill a person or crack the sidewalk.[254] The terminal velocity of a falling penny is about 30–50 miles per hour, and the penny will not exceed that speed regardless of the height from which it is dropped. At that speed, its energy is not enough to penetrate a human skull or crack concrete, as demonstrated on an episode of Mythbusters.

I used to have a list of which books I've owned/read. My sister asked me about it the other day, while she was searching for episodes of the Goosebumps show (I've never seen it)...Guess I'll make a new list. R. L. Stine is kind of the only fiction I can stand. Not sure why, I always got the non-fiction books at school.

So China Anne McClain plays Chyna in A.N.T. Farm? What's with the Y instead of I? If they're giving the character the same name as the actress, then there's no reason to make it look different...

Hair and fingernails do not continue to grow after a person dies. Rather, the skin dries and shrinks away from the bases of hairs and nails, giving the appearance of growth.[166]

"Pooh Oughta Be in Pictures" September 10, 1988
As a reward for Christopher Robin eating all his vegetables, he along with Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger go to the theater to watch Birdzilla, a scary monster movie. During the film, Piglet gets scared and thinks the movie is real and the monster will get him. The gang tries to convince him that it is only make-believe and proceed to make their own monster film to prove it.
