My personal Disney fanon - After Queen Grimhilde fell off the cliff, she survived the drop, but couldn't turn herself back to her youthful self. She then found the flower that brings youth, which she uses. She changes her name to Mother Gothel, for whatever acceptable reason, and Tangled happens. Also, she has a relationship with Judge Claude Frollo, somehow, until he dies.

It's just trying to make it all work really. Snow White and Tangled are both set in Germany (if you assume it's set in the place the original tale is from), whereas Hunchback is set in France. I guess you could assume that the effects of the plant were diluted when turned into the soup, so Rapunzel doesn't have the full strength the flower did. Assuming Gothel could go maybe a week at the most without needing Rapunzel (seeing as she says that it takes 3 days to get those paints for Rapunzel, which could increase depending on random condition), whereas maybe she could of gone a year without needing the plant again.

This! That's why I said you should've kept a journal. I have a wicked good memory but I'm almost a year behind on one TR and I've forgotten some stuff. If I had the journal I would've been able to give a thorough TR like I usually do.
