My dad told me that you can use it when you're talking about approximating numbers, like if you were to say "We're leaving in about 4 hours", you would be able to say "We're leaving in ~4 hours."

I dunno if that's ~correct though.

tilde power.

A tilde (from what I remember from school) is used in the "about" form. Like saying "He ate about four apples" but replacing "about" with "~" so you would say "He ate ~4 apples" or something like that. You don't know exactly how many apples he ate, so you're saying about. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's how my English teacher told us to use it.

I'm assuming this is when it's written down, and not said aloud, right? Because I have no idea how you pronounce it. Atm, I'm thinking "till-deh".

Back from the Duck Tours! It was pretty awesome. I sat up front and got to drive the Duck! :goodvibes

*gasp!* you got to drive it! Thats so awesome !! :goodvibes

Yeah, when you are on the Charles River, they ask for any kids (Of course, I'm one year away from my driver's license but I wanted to drive ~I regret nothing~) who want to drive. I was the last one to do it and the tallest and the guy kept on turning the wheel in the opposite direction I was turning it :confused3

I'm really not liking my signature anymore... Especially since the Luna icon says Lovergood not Lovegood. Totally bothering me :sad2:
