I don't hate Harry Potter and I'm not saying it's bad, I've just never seen more than the 1st 2 movies or read any of the books. Maybe, someday I'll get a chance to read the books and see the rest of the movies, and maybe I'll like them more. But for now, when I haven't yet, I like Star Wars better.
I say, if you do get the chance, read the books, then see the movies, because it is very different from seeing the movie than reading the books. I already had been reading the books before I saw the movie and I think that had an effect.

There was no way I was ever going to see Dinosaur. There was an advert on one of my VHS tapes (I think Buzz Lightyear of Star Command), and I spent it all with my eyes covered, in case that carnosaur appeared...
