yesssssssssssssssssssssss maan!

i also found out that the centre fielder is the 'captain' if you like, of the outfield. they catch the most fly-balls, have the be the quickest runner, and have to be behind the left fielder or right fielder incase they commit an error when the ball comes towards them so they have backup.

Ellsbury began last night batting .298 with six homers, 27 RBI, an .830 OPS and a league-leading 19 steals. He never has made an All- Star team, but that could change six weeks from now in Arizona.

"I just focus on the task at hand, which is going out today and doing my job," Ellsbury said. "If I'm deserving in the end, maybe things will work out."

bby! he's so modest

A team's leadoff hitter is often its catalyst. He is the one responsible for getting on base so that the heavy hitters behind him have a chance to drive in runs. A player's ability to handle the bat well is generally a good determinant of a solid leadoff hitter.

Throughout Major League Baseball, there are a number of good leadoff hitters -- each with their own set of strengths.

Jacoby Ellsbury's speed makes him a major threat at the top of the Red Sox order, especially given the talent that follows him. This season, Ellsbury has become even more dangerous because of his ability to get on base consistently. Ellsbury is batting .298 and has a .368 on-base percentage, both higher than his career averages. His 19 stolen bases are tied for first in the majors.

As the calendar switches to June, it's another opportunity for AL East teams to start fresh. As we've seen this season, the division is as unpredictable as ever.

The Red Sox and Yankees have historically been regarded as the division's perennial powerhouses, but in recent years, the Tampa Bay Rays have enjoyed success, the Blue Jays have been difficult to play against and the Baltimore Orioles are compiling a good, young nucleus.

This season, all five teams are in contention throughout the first two months, and all have enjoyed ups and downs already, especially the Red Sox.

Despite losing three in a row, the Sox are coming off a red-hot month of May in which they went from under .500, and five games back in the division, to battling for the top spot.

Their starting pitching, anchored by the trio of Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz has been fantastic, and Adrian Gonzalez has been putting up MVP numbers offensively.

The Yankees, meanwhile, continue to show how gifted they are offensively, scoring the third most most runs in Major League Baseball so far this season. CC Sabathia has been his normal impressive self, and Bartolo Colon has resurrected his career in pinstripes.

The Tampa Bay Rays, like the Red Sox, have three solid pitchers on which they can rely each time through the rotation. David Price, James Shields and Jeremy Hellickson have all put together strong campaigns, as Matt Joyce has surprisingly led the offense.

A lot of experts thought the Rays would drop off significantly this season, especially after losing their entire bullpen in the offseason, but they continue to battle for the top spot in the East.

The Toronto Blue Jays have one of the league's most potent offenses, led by Jose Bautista, who has been far and away the best hitter in baseball in 2011. With some timely pitching by guys like Ricky Romero and rookie Kyle Drabek, the Blue Jays could make some noise and at least make things difficult for the teams currently ahead of them.

The Baltimore Orioles might not be there just yet, but they're coming. They've got some power bats in their lineup, and rookie Zach Britton has shown that he can be a top-of-the-rotation type of pitcher when he's on.

There's a lot of baseball to be played, and the AL East has already had a number of teams take a crack at holding down the top spot. Who will be trying to do so a month from now when we head toward the dog days of summer?

I am so glad summer is finally here for me!!! Actually, school is still going on, but since I have taken all of my tests, what's the point of going?

Woo, I'm starting my 30 day challenge now. Time to watch me some 101 Dalmatians.

The theme song for 101 Dalmatians is a minute long. Why?

I kinda wish I had my ears pierced......I always chicken out at the last minute!

My friend has five piercings in her ears. I think once you get past the two in your ear lobes, it starts to look trashy.

My stomach is growling and it's only 9:45 in the morning here!! I ate breakfast three hours ago.....so idk why it's doing that.
