I'm sure we've all got tough people to buy for and maybe we can get some ideas by sharing.

I'm buying the same thing for my 76 year old father that I am for my 20 year old niece!! They both want IPOD's!!! :rotfl:

My mom is my tough one. She's a reader and loves to buy books, but I got her a Barnes and Noble gift card for her birthday in November, so that's out. She's also a baker so I might try and get her something from Williams Sonoma that she doesn't have.

My best friend is getting a Home Depot gift card. She's got a new house and can use all the help she can get.

We only buy presents for the kids amoung the cousins, so I'm getting video games for all of them. I asked them to tell me which system they have and a list of games for me to pick from.

My friend's little girl is getting something Cinderella from WDW. She's about 15 months old and that movie is her favorite thing in the world. Her Mom and Dad are getting a gift certificate for "Date Night". Movie tickets, a gift card for a restaurant and babysitting services!

What's on your list?

oh my list is large this year.

Ds is getting a fly pen and a whole mess of accesories
dd1 I dont know yet but am leaning towards the Target version of an American Doll and more
dd2 is getting a train table and trains

Dh is always a pain but I think seasons 2 and 3 of 24

Mum is half taken care of I got her a nice hat that she has been wanting that she couldnt find. I found it at a craft fair last weekend.

Brothers I have no clue, new neice something girlie, nephews something boyish they love all things boyish LOL

I think thats it. No idea what else Im going to do. I need to get shopping!

i can't post what I'm getting for DH, since he's a regular on the boards. ;) I'm thinking about getting my Mom something from the Beanpod candle line. They smell sooo good! I have no idea what to get for my sister. She's 13, so she's at the age where everybody embarrasses her....especially her big sister who makes her leave the house before her hair is perfect.... :rolleyes1
It's a safe bet that if my Dad isn't included in with the Beanpod thing, he'll be getting something involving a duck. He really likes ducks! Have no idea for the in-laws or anybody else at this point, either....

My mum lost her job last year - she went back to school, but she just finished and hasn't found a job. So she asked for practical things, like her Clinique stuff and some Bath and Body Works shower gels. And Tony Bennett's Duets CD and Barry Manilow Sings the 60s CD (there go some cool points for me...)

Gram, I don't know. She needs slippers. But they can't be too bulky on the bottom and she may need a size 11. I should probably look for men's slippers.

My ex - believe it or not, he's still my best friend - I'll get him a GC to a store where he can buy Carhartt coats cheap (for work) or a GC for a remote car starter, since he just bought a new car. That's probably what I'm getting him for his birthday on 11/24, though, too.

My dog gets a new collar and a couple bags of treats.

Already got the wife a new truck...so she's getting salami for Xmas. :teeth:

DH - getting an lcd monitor, some clothes, and some books and dvds
Mom - I got her a nice cashmere sweater for $50 from Lands End overstocks
Dad - Either a PC sweatshirt or his usual bottle of scotch and borders gc
Sister - some pug slippers and some republic of tea tea
Brother - either a cookbook and some cooking stuff, or a stop & shop gc
Grandma - a really nice gift set from penzeys
Gramps - a PC tee
My other Grandmother is getting some B&BW lotions and soaps
MIL and FIL are getting a gc to a nice restaurant since they never splurge
DH's nephews are getting a remote control helicopter or some other toy MIL and SIL won't approve of.

I want a creme brulee set with a torch, or Tetris for Nintendo DS. :teeth: Also, a cd by Dido, Sweat pants and a "make-your own" scrimshaw set.

DS wants the new Zelda game, which I've pre-ordered, a RoboPet, Cats for Nintendo DS (But not Catz, he wants the feline version due out equivalent to NintenDogs), a new controller for his Gamecube and some Floam. Maybe an RC mouse too, to play with his real cat.

DH doesn't know what he wants and if he doesn't come up with something fast he'll wind up with new socks, a new ringtone for his phone, a USMC sweatshirt and some shells for his rifle.

DD wants pens, paper, an easel for her room, new shoes and some Disney DVD's she doesn't yet have.

I want to be practical with presents for my friends and family this year too. I'm tired of buying stuff they might not really want. The problem is with people like my mom who say, "You don't have to get me anything." Huh?? It's freaking Christmas--I AM getting you presents!! So crazy.

: Also, a cd by Dido,

I LOVE Dido!!! I wish she'd hurry up and put out something new!

THis year with our Christmas Disney trip and all my daughter's events in the next month, I'm really pressed for time so I'm doing the Gift certificate shuffle.

I'm giving both of my sisters gift certificates for their families to all go out to dinner.

I'm taking my mom to Disney with us... so that's her prez.

My adult (married) nieces and Nephews are all getting Netflix gift certificates. I did this last year and they were a huge hit. And it's nice to give a gift that keeps giving for 6 months.

and my daughter is having a pretty small Christmas since we're going to Disney. She's getting some books, a camara, a gameboy game and some doodads that I'll pick up at Disney.

She's an artist I always forget about. My MIL had her cd and I loved it. I was asking for White Flag, but I also just adore the song she did on "Love Actually". Would you care to recommend a cd for me to ask for?

Oh, something I'd gotten many years ago, but still love every Christmas is Aaron Neville's Christmas cd. Good stuff!

Well Dido is on a couple of compilation CD's with other artists (such as the Love Actually CD) but she actually only has two full CD's of her own. Life for Rent and I'm no Angel. I absolutely love them both and I don't think that I could pick one over the other. They are both fabulous. I really love the song, Life for Rent.

DMom asked for an Impressionist datebook. I also picked up a used set of the Murder She Wrote books, and may set her up on Paperbackbookswap. I also need to start with her stocking and St. Nicholas day shoes.
Person I have in the brother/sis-in-law draw DISes. :rolleyes1
Cousin's kids are getting personalized ornaments. Cousin is getting an Itunes giftcard, and his wife is either getting bath and body works or LUSH stuff.
DUncle is getting a graduation picture, and probably gloves.
DNephew10 s getting a reconditioned Ipod shuffle, DNiece12 is getting some vegan cookbooks, and Nephew7 is getting a LightingMcQueen duffle bag and something else.

Stuff for running intended for use post-baby. Some new gear, some new socks (the special $10 per pair kind :)), and an IPOD or equivilant.

I also requested some Godiva Chocolate and the Grey's Anatomy Season 1 and 2 DVD's. A McYummy combination.

Hubby's family does lists--they are an adult version ofa kid list. Lots of DVD's, lots of computer games, lots and lots and lots of things.
