Chapter 1

Hey! It’s Amanda Sparks again. You thought my first year at Morrible’s was crazy? Check out my second! It all started after term ended last June. As you remember, my friends and I had defeated the Dark Lord Haley. After we got back, I had nowhere to go. I ended up going to Samantha’s place. Where I met an unexpected person. I walked in the door and suddenly, behind Sam, there was someone…who looked exactly like her! “Who’s that?” I asked Sam. “Oh, her? That’s my twin, Dalin. She also went to Morrible’s, but she likes to…keep to herself.” “Nice to meet you, Dalin,” I said. “Uhh…you too,” she replied. “C’mon, my room is just up the stairs” Sam said to me. We went upstairs to her room. It was a plain room, blue and green. The ceiling was silver, and the walls were blue with green stripes. There was a twin bed in the right-hand top corner, a carved wood desk with a green chair next to it. The rest of the room had clothes and other little knick-knacks, all on shelves and bookcases. The walls were covered with magic rock band posters. It was a palace, compared to my room back at home. “Wanna see my sister’s room?” Sam asked. “Sure!” Next door there was a similar room, except it was all back and red. There were also drawings and such all over the floor. A writers’ notebook and sketchbook were on the desk. I bent down to have a closer look at the drawings. Dalin came up behind me.
“Did-did you draw these?” I asked her.
“Yeah,” she said, looking embarrassed. “They suck, though.”
“No, no they’re really good!” I said.
“Really? Thanks!”
“No problem, Dalin.”
“Come on, Amanda! Let’s go for a walk through the neighborhood. There’s new neighbors arriving today. Let’s go see who it is!”
“Ok!” I turned to Dalin. “Would you like to come with us?”
“Sure!” she said. We raced outside.
