What's on the Emerald Aisle? **2014**

We arrived 4/2 around 11:30am and saw one Dodge Caravan, quite a few Hyundai's (I believe they were Sonata's), a couple of Chevy Impalas and a Traverse or two. We took a Jeep Compass that only had 800 miles on it.

We arrived 3/27 around 3:30. Mainly cars on the aisle: Impalas, Sonatas (?) and a few Toyotas. No minivans. Was able to grab a Chevy Captiva SUV that recently pulled into the lot.

I was about to start this tread also. O thanks for getting it going.

Looking forward to June trip and a SUV or something fun.

Thanks, YO

OT- this is my first time reserving a rental car.

Is the Emerald club free to join? I am looking on the website here, and it states they will just hold $1 out of my credit card.

Thanks!

Emerald club is free to join.

Thank you!

From what I was reading it looked like it was. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't get any surprise charges. I'm going to sign up now!

Well, there goes that idea. I just tried it and I can not sign up without a credit card. We have NO credit cards, so I will just have to take my chances with a standard and the KLM code.

Thanks for the info though!

did any one happing to see what they have in there Luxury side ?

I am hesitant to post it as our resident "cheerleader" will probably show up and call me a lair, but..

The Luxury and Premium aisles at MCO are a JOKE! One or two spaces don't make an "aisle" IMHO. Generally you have one type of car and it's not usually something I want to drive. (I took photos to prove the "size and selection" after being called a liar on here a few times LOL! ) This is true on both A and B sides.

Supposedly if you ask you can get the car off of Alamo which amazingly always has much better stuff, but the one time I was sent there by a National employee the Alamo employee refused to let me take a car without "paperwork" so... YMMV

There is more information on FlyerTalk (which is where I now post my sightings at MCO)

I also noticed there was very little on the Lux or Premium aisles when we were there in Dec. If it wasn't called an "aisle" I certainly would have missed it!

OCCommuter , :wave2: please feel free to post on here. ::yes:: Your nemesis has not been on the new thread at all. We are only 3 pages for 2014.
You should not be intimidated by someone. Just put "ignore" and you will not have to read what they post.
Sad when anyone restrict's the comfort of someone. If you have information to help someone even a little thing like our thread > please do.
I have been the one starting this thread for years [except sis did it once] and would love you to return. pixiedust:

So, please forgive my ignorance, I just signed up for the emerald club. I'm confused though, are there separate aisles for separate levels of car? For instance, if I book an intermediate am I limited to a certain aisle to choose my car from that may or may not have larger cars/suv's in it? Or should I just book an SUV (something comfortable for a family of five)? And if I book an SUV then do I have the opportunity to still choose whatever I like once we are there?

National has 2 different ways to obtain cars.
1.] Emerald aisle. This is a mixture of different kinds of cars and different levels. Its a miss match area. You are rolling the dice > to see what you will get. they do say the "intermediate" level is the smallist available. But, you might score a convertible, suv, van, lux, or you basic mid sized, or full sized car. Within emerald aisle there are 2+ levels of cars & have different qualifications for level of service.

2.] National reserve. If you know you need a van or suv. You reserve your suv or van or whatever > when you get to national simply look for your lane of cars. and pick whichever car you choose. As long as its your reserved category.

-- National lets you skip the desk > and go directly to the garage > pick out your own car and give your information on your way out at the exit kiosk.

Happy hunting..... :hyper:

Question: I need 2 booster seats which I have already reserved. When do I get those? Ask the attendant on the way out? Or will I need to go to the desk?

Never gotten baby seats but I would probably go to the garage and there are attendents all over. Plus a little booth near the cars with a attendent.
But, to be sure you can always call national and ask.
