I was just sorting through pictures of DD wedding last year (the youngest and last).

And it suddenly occurred to me that beer was a very important part of the wedding. DD is a PT, as is her DH, and both are outdoor people. They mountain climb, bike, run, backpack, camp, and of course drink wine and beer. I ran across this picture which shows some home brew they used for the wedding toast -- a quite good pale ale in fact.

The wedding reception was outside of Syracuse NY at a place called Camp Brockway. OK, now what does this have to do with FW and with beer? Well, I can't be at the Fort this weekend, although I want to be - and - we had a lot of different kegs and bottles of beer at that wedding:

Labatts Blue
Moosehead (of course)
Harp
Homebrew IPA
Middle Ages Druid Fluid
Middle Ages Pale Ale

So, I guess what I'm asking is, what do you have on tap this weekend?

I bet Colson still has some Heinie on tap.

I have some Labatt's Blue and some of my own Irish Stout.

Nothing on tap here, but we discovered Land Shark Lager this past April in Florida and it is finally available here in Maine. Brewed by Margaritaville in Jacksonville, FL it looks like Corona but is smoother.

Beer is an important part of every event in our family! Some traditions are not meant to be broken!!!

In our home growing up, (mine & ntsammy's - we're siblings & he's much older) you never heard the question "How many gallons of paint will it take to paint the living room?" You heard: "How many cases of beer will it take to paint the living room?" Yes--- every job was judged by how much beer it would take to complete the task!

Mowing the lawn= 3 beers (1 before, 1 during, 1 after)
Cooking a pork roast on the grill= 12 beers (+/-) depending on the size of the roast.
Watching "Da Bills"= Vast amounts!! (Yes, sometimes it can be a real job to watch "Da Bills") :rotfl2:

Oh yeah - - - what's on tap? Icehouse & Margaritas! (No chores, though!)

And, ntsammy's DD's wedding was one of the best, ever! :thumbsup2

We enetered my favorite time of year for beer ... Octoberfest. I love the fall marzen brews, which nicely lead into the stonger, spicy winter brews that many of the breweries release for the holidays.

For this weekend, I'm finishing off my summer Dogfishhead Festina Peche (Rehoboth,DE)

I'll also be cracking into my cases of:
Spaten Oktoberfest
Victory Fest (Downingtown, PA)
Flying Fish Octoberfish (Cherry Hill, NJ)

For my Halloween vaction at the Fort, I'm planning on bringing a case of mixed Octoberfests to enjoy while lounging around.

Ever been to Munich? It's a once in a lifetime trip to go to Oktoberfest in the Hofbrauhaus -- to bad I don't have umlauts

I LOVE SPATEN

My dream trip is to hit Oktoberfest in Munich. I've got plenty of years left, and I will make it there eventually. A few years back I was in Vegas for a fall wedding, and was able to hit the Vegas Hofbrauhaus during Oktoberfest. They did an amazing job with the Vegas Hofbrau replica, but obviously it was a far cry from the real thing.

Of my big 4 german Oktoberfests (Spaten, Paulaner, Hofbrau, and Hacker-Pschorr) Spaten is easily my fav, I'm also a big fan of Paulaner's Oktober.

Spaten, Bitburger and Konigsbrau - some good drinking there. I have never been to Munich, but have been to a LOT of local beer fests in Germany featuring their local brews - an excellent time. What a fun country.

Well, the second mini-keg at least ;) I actually became so enamored with the thing that I realized I was spending way more on beer than I normally would, so I cut back.

Those things seem to go so fast compared to a 18 pack of Bud :P Although the taste is most definitely fresher.

It is really nice though (especially on football Saturday or Sundays) to be able to relax in the chair, flip through the games, and have beer on tap. I have definitely become a fan of the Heineken mini-keg, their marketing campaign worked on me ;)
