We will only be stayingg for three nights in May. How can we get the most out of our stay (we will be in a garden view room)?

You definitely have to watch the fireworks from the beach one night. The view is perfect, they seem to come from right over the castle. Also the Electric Light Parade still goes by every night at 9:00pm (I think) in the lagoon and it is still pretty cool. If you are lucky you can snag one of the hammocks right on the beach. And for the adults, try a Lapu Lapu adult beverage from the Tambu Lounge. It is a multi-rum concoction served in a hollowed-out pinapple that is amazing.

There is also a mini cermony to light the tiki torches each night, (Tues-Sat I think) at around 6:00pm in front of the GCH that is a nice little touch of Polynesia. You don't mention if you are going with children but they have stories and other performers throughout the day in the GCH, just check with the front desk.

This resort is so beautiful that just walking around at night is an activity in itself.

I 2nd the torch lighting ceremony . . .Also try the breakfast at Kona Cafe. The food and coffee is very very good and reasonably priced!

Dinner at O'Hanna's was a highlight for us. Check out the menu. It has a nice atmosphere too.

3rd the Torch Lighting, especially if you have kids.

2nd watching MK fireworks from the Poly beach (assuming you can't be the park) - the beach closer to Luau cove gives a better view IMO.

I'd also vote for a water mouse - small boat rentals you can boat over to the MK, the GF and WL. We only went for the 1/2 hour rental, and found it to be plenty of time.

Have a great trip! Tx5

Definitely watch the fireworks from the beach. Also try the Tonga Toast at the Kona Cafe for breakfast.

can you actually ride the watermouse from the poly to other places, dock the boat, and return? :wizard:

We had a BLAST at the Polynesian!

Don't miss the pool.... it is very nice, and we loved the zero entry feature. Also, get a cocktail and relax on the beach while watching the fireworks at night. You can get the cocktail from Tambu Lounge, just tell it is to go, and they will put it in a disposible cup for you. Relax in the hammock on the beach one morning. Eat at both 'Ohana (for dinner) and Kona (any meal there is good, but the Tonga Toast in the morning is fantastic!). Enjoy shopping... the Polynesian themed souveniers are really nice. I got some really nice lanterns there. Take the boat launch to the Magic Kingdom or back. Relax at night at the quiet pool, you will likely have it to yourself. Explore the grounds, the flora is beautiful. Rent a surrey bike and ride if you don't want to walk. Rent water craft and go out on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Go to the Spirit of Aloha luau. Try to get a room with a balcony---they are usually only available on the 3rd floor ... we were in Rapatonga on the 3rd floor overlooking the quiet pool. I believe we were in room 2313... order room service and enjoy the privacy and view.

As you can tell we were very pleased with everything at the Polynesian, and spent much more time at the resort than we usually do.
