I haven't been paying much attention lately to DVC's plans and now I'm curious. What are DVC's plans for new resorts at WDW?? I know they were planning on expanding the Villas at Wilderness Lodge but any idea what's coming after that??

Your post remided me of something I wanted to share. When I was there this April, I asked a guide how the new development would be handled for current owners of VWL.

He informed me that I would still retain the 11 month home resort booking advantage and there would be 2 sets of contracts with different expiration.

Have no idea, but hope they come up with a more point friendly option. GFV and the Poly are just too high for me.

You mean as current VWL owners will also have the 11 month booking advantage at CV3? And vice versa? That's potentially very bad unless DVC in some insane financial plan is going to have the same point charts and just create a Cabin category. Otherwise VWL will have much lower point costs and we may have quite the problems booking where we actually own at 11 months.

Now, if they meant you'll still have 11 month window at your current resort well, of course, that would have to be the case. I am somewhat doubtful that guides have been told any information though on the new resort. They've never gotten the info on other resort more than a day or two in advance of the public in the past and this would be a very odd exception.

Man, if there is any kind of availability merge for VWL and CV3, I well and truly expect the VWL owners to pitch the biggest legal fit possible, because that will deeply impact their ability to book where they own.

Plus it would be inappropriate for a guide to discuss a new resort that does not have all of the necessary legal filings in place which are needed before they can start selling points.

what does CV3 stand for? I haven't herad that before. I know it as the VWL expansion.

Rumor is the name will be Copper Creek Cavins and Villas at WL. C3V just covers the Copper Creek Cabin Villas part. :)

When I was just there, a DVC CM told me quite honestly they are never given anything concrete until a few hours before any public announcements due to past problems with leaks. He said a lot of them now get their information from DISBoards... For example the latest round of restrictions they had no official announcement until an email that morning.

Basically he said any CM that says otherwise is spouting rumors.

which means there are probably many lurking CM's here.... <looks left...> <looks right...> I think I see a few.

That assures me that I can treat all rumors provided by CMs at DVC, on the boats, the parks, elswhere, the same way I have always treated them: completely reliable ... until the next one comes along.

As I read it they are going to make them two separate resorts. To combine them they'd need to extend the current VWL first.
