As some of you know Rick and I have a team approach to this so I figured I'd get started and upload photos while he caught up on work then he could add the commentary.

We just got back from the Oct 18 4 night on the Wonder. So in postings to follow, there are lots of pics from the Outlook Lounge/Cafe, the new tvs, the new laundry (yeah, exciting I know....;)) But we knew everyone would be wondering.

I left all the pictures large so no detail would be lost, so if it takes longer for the pictures to load, please forgive me. Also, some may be blurry- there was some close quarters taking some of these- but they'll at least give you the idea!

Here is a summary of the changes that we saw:

1. In room safes now take a 4 digit code instead of the card swipe system. THe still appear to be the same size.

2. New glow in the dark stickers behind all of the exit door handles. Approx 1.5 x 3 inches.

3. Flat screen tvs with multiple AV jacks for vhs/dvd/game systems.

4. We didn't have the character greeting in the Terminal, but it seemed there were many more aboard this time.

5. Parking is a mess. They are working on the new parking structure. All bags are dropped where the shuttles pick up/drop off and then someone pulls off to park with a nice "little" stroll back to the terminal.

6. Drink stations on deck 9 have been rehabbed- See pics to follow.

7. Laundry has been converted over to card swipe system instead of coin op. See pics to follow.

8. Redesigned duty free shop. It is actually a small shop now instead of the walk up counter it used to be.

9. Cadillac Lounge piano stage has moved to the other end of the room.

10. Outlook Cafe seats approx 65. No smoking. No one under 18. Ribbon cutting was while we were on the boat. Still a bit sterile right now, it's still in search of an identity.

11. Staffing- Disney has extended vacations for both the Wonder and the Magic to 10-12 weeks. THis allows them to hire more people into the rotation and start training for the Dream. It appears from talking with the staff that about 25% of the cuerrent workers will be offered positions on the Dream.

Future "Snack Bar" (finger food, munchie kind of stuff- has not been decided on yet)

There's a really good mix of comfy lounger chairs with a "built in" table, fairly good sized charis and low tables- like cafe tables, and some high top tables and bar stools. If Outlook really takes off it could easily become overwhelmed at the coffee/bar.

Any questions ask, I'll try and answer them!

Thanks for the updates.

The pics look awesome!

I wonder if the Dream will look even more spectacular?

The drink station on deck 9 has been switched up. The round soda station has been removed. All of the sodas/iced drinks are on the wall that backs up to BBB Buffet and the coffee/hot drinks are along the outside railing.

Where'd all my Diet Coke fountains go?!?

Oh! There they are!

And yes, the people all thought I was crazy taking pictures of the drink stations....;)

Washers are high efficiency. Card swipey things everywhere.....even on the soap dispensers. They weren't working yet so I can't tell you how they work, but we did get free laundry for the whole cruise! Good thing I threw in detergent! There's nothing like coming home with all clean laundry!:lmao: I'm so easily amused......

Upclose swipey thing- I know, blurry, but heck I was almost riding the leftover washer to get this one- so you just gotta use your imagination!

Back- there's a green jack and a purple(or blue?) jack that the cable blocks out in the pic.

Brief interlude....must refill Diet Coke....... please talk amongst yourselves.......

Great to see what they've done, thanks Lori and Rick - hope you guys had a great cruise?

Thanks Lori and Rick, I'm getting excited, I leave three weeks from yesterday. I see from the pics that there is going to be some food in the new lounge, can you bring things up there - for example if you buy a pastry or grab a salad or sandwich on deck 9, can you eat in the upstairs lounge?

That is really cool about the laundry, probably won't have to do any on this cruise but it's good to know going forward.

Glad I don't have to worry about parking.

It was a bit bumpy, but overall just wonderful! Thanks!

There were people eating there when I went up to take pics. I'd say if you do you may want to clear dishes over to the barista/bartender- as there was only 1 guy working the times we went up there, and he was busy behind the bar. Have fun!

thanks for sharing, outlook cafe place looks great. I can't wait to go in December, so that I can see it in person. Looks like a nice place:thumbsup2

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to go back. Um, have to comment on the guys at the drink station that look like they just got done doing their chores. Were there a lot of people from Iowa on that cruise???

We discovered that there were many folks on the ship who worked the drydock (they worked while the Wonder sailed to port Canaveral)... and they rode back with us to the bahamas (DCL actually had some "special" drink prices for them for a few hours the first night)... :thumbsup2
