I know how you both feel. It is quite depressing when you don't have a trip planned. My sister had to cancer her October trip that she booked as a bounceback last October and I can't even talk about my trip with her at all. I wish she would want to talk about it but I totally understand...

Hey guys! I'm still here!!

The trip is less than 50 days away!! I have been OBSESSED with this project that I'm working on. It all started when I was looking at our old disney albums. Then I decided to scan them onto my desktop, put them on a disc and transfer them to my mac laptop so I can make an imovie photo montage like I did with the honeymoon pics.

That led me to thinking about adding old home videos to the project. So I bought a machine that transfers VHS to DVD and that's what I've been doing for the past week! First I did old disney planning videos just to see how it works and it's awesome!! You should see the computer the "reservation specialist" is sitting at in 1994!! Anyway, so I'm still in the process of transferring our disney home videos to DVD THEN I have to buy the program that will convert the DVD to a format that can be used on imovie.....

Then I wanted the song "Remember the Magic" from the 25th anniversary but I couldn't find it anywhere!! So I asked on the DIS and someone led me to a cd called "Disney's Greatest Pop Hits" which I bought (used) on Amazon for less than $4! Not only does it have that song, but it has all the movie songs sun by pop artist, like Peabo Bryson's version of A Whole New World and Michael Bolton singing I Can Go the Distance for Hercules. Good stuff!

Anyway, this whole thing is quite a time consuming (and becoming expensive!) project but I'm having so much fun going through all the memories. I can't wait to show it to you guys when I'm all done!!

It's a lovely song - the lyrics are perfect it gets me choked up like "Remember the Magic" does!

I'm trying to find a version of a song called "it starts with a sketch", again I have it in a piano book of Disney Parks music - it's by Alan Menken & the lyrics are so nice... I'm having no luck on YouTube so far!

Speaking of which how do you like the vhs/dvd transer thing I have wanted to get one but never knew if they were worth it. Do you like it? If so mind sharing the brand.

Since seeing you take it back ol school with the pics it gave me the idea to steal LOL and do something like that for my aunts, they used to take my cousin and i to Dland every yr!

Hey! Oh it is soooo worth it! I'm actually quite...well I don't know if "cheap" is the word but I don't just spend money on expensive things for the heck of it. So the machine I bought, I found on bestbuy.com. I just searched "dvd recorder" and the cheapest one was a refurbished magnavox. It was about half the price of the other ones that were listed and it had great reviews. It's very simple and easy to use and has worked exactly how I wanted it to! When all was said and done with shipping and taxes and stuff, it was only a little of $100.

Yes it is fun! Although, I finally finished copying all the videos from my 1994 trip. It took a few days to fist transfer to DVD, then it takes a while to convert it to a file for the comp....and after all that, I probably used a total of about 8 seconds in my video so far!

Tonight we are on to the 1995 trip.....

Oh my god, look at my ticker guys! I'm less than 40 days out and I was shocked that my Magical Express tags came in the mail today!!! It seems sooo real now!!

I did a little impromptu Disney clothes shopping yesterday and got a bunch of stuff...mostly for DH. He got a G.I. Joe t-shirt for the 4th! I was so jealous because I couldn't find a good 4th t-shirt. There was one with Olympic rings that said USA but it was a mens t-shirt...I would prefer it in a tank! Still Tom wants to do a wardrobe change half-way through because apparently he has a tradition of wearing a Captain America t-shirt on the 4th...which we'll have to find him still! Other than that, we both got some new shorts and he got a few more polo style shirts and short sleeve button down shirts.

So exciting!!
