What's more American than Disney?!We Brave the 4th of July! TR LINK pg. 55!!!!!!!

I was just looking through the random pictures I have uploaded so I thought I'd share a couple of obscure ones!

First of all, since it's the official 100th day, I thought I'd post a picture of some of the countdown calendars I've made.

This one, I made for my sister.

And this is OUR official countdown calendar! We've used it since our first trip together in 2006. After that first trip, we changed the generic WDW pics with pics from our trip and they've stayed the same ever since.

Can you all guess where this one is from? Any new Disney goers won't know. It's OLD SCHOOL!! That's me on the left with my mom and sister. I was 13 and such a dork! I was all about the Disney t-shirts! Aren't my hat hot and sunglasses?!

108055WorldofMotion94.jpg

We (my parents) purchased this brick in 1995. It was only $90!! What a bargain! We look for it every year and it's still there! We have so many pictures of it, I thought I'd distinguish this picture with pirate ears. This was taken in 2007. In case anyone is interested, our brick is on the path from the bus stop to the entrance. It's in a great location, we don't have to go out of our way to find it at all.

That Stone is sooo cool !!!

Love how you have one of those leave a memory bricks (or is that just the wall thingy?). Will try and look out for it when we go this year :)

Hi Nikki!
I'm so jealous you have one of those bricks outside the Magic Kingdom.. I really wish my family had got one back in the 1990s when we first went there lol.

Really love your countdown calendar.. I think I might make one for DF & I... first of all this December's trip then another for the Disneymoon next year! :cool1:

Happy 100 days countdown! I'm at 262 today lol... but that means 259 til NYC hehe.

Yes I feel so fortunate to have one of the MK bricks! I'm so happy that my parents introduced me to Disney and were so into it! My mom was a member of the old disney club (that gave you %10 off all purchases in the stores and parks - including that brick!) and we subscribed to the old disney magazine. My mom's current Disney Visa says Day One on it! How cool is that?! I'm jealous! They haven't gone since out last trip together in 2001....they are a little confused about the obsession my sister and I developed but I keep telling them, it's their fault!! I think they secretly wish they were as obsessed!

Stefy, you can definitely find it! You will literally step on it on your walk from the buses to the entrance. And if you have the number on the top, they are in some sort of order so you can follow the numbers and find it. It always takes me a minute or so but it's easy to find. I just hope it stays there, at least until I have children who can see it. When we bought it, it was only guaranteed for 10 years...it's now been 15.

Coolbeans, so cool that its in an easy to find spot too. Will make a note to look out for No. 95 :)

Nikki, I am so excited that you are at 100 days. That means that I am sooo close to our 100 days! (Recently, I have been counting down the days of school! I think it is only 51...(not sure on how many snow days were added.)

Hope grad school is coming along!

Only 51 days?! Well, actually I don't think we have that much more...maybe around 60. Going to read your TR now!

Thank you! My parents bought it in 1995 for only $90! It was actually a really big deal back then. The plan was to make a walkway all around the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. There was even a kiosk outside of the MK where you can get a map to your brick, and get information about purchasing one. I don't know what happened, but they never finished the walkway. Not sure if there wasn't enough interest for if Disney just didn't want to do it anymore. I know that just a couple of years ago, they sold a few more but it was for a very short amount of time.

You've inspired me. I need to get busy on our countdown calendar - as if my dh needs one more reason to think I am loony. ;)

Maybe I will make two; one for school and one for Disney!:rotfl:

Oh yeah, a small notepad works great! Do you have Home Depots by you? They have the Mickey head paint chips...already squares with mickey heads on them. Sounds like that's exactly what you have in mind.

I'm so excited! I'm not usually one to always get the latest in technology but the video camera we have is a few years old now, and as quickly as technology is advancing, it seems quite outdated and cumbersome. (Although I do remember when I was a kid, my dad carrying around the giant video camera that held actual VHS tapes!) Well, because it was such a pain to carry, we rarely took it with us to the parks and this will be perfect! I can just throw it in my bag and whip it out if anything interesting is going on!

Also, I've been watching disney videos on youtube and I really want to be able to do that. This one I especially love.

Those of you who followed my Mini-TR from October might remember the small "Ode to Single Riders" song, sung to the tune of "Single Ladies." It all started from a picture I took on Test Track and Ellen sympathized with the poor woman sitting next to us. And I said, that's what happens when you use the single riders line! You get stuck next to us!

Tom happened to not be on this ride, but my group, which consisted of me in the front and the girl next to me, and my sister and her husband in the back, decided to go with "really scared" as our pose for this ride! And then there's the poor two single riders.....

Well at the time, I only wrote one verse but since seeing the youtube videos, I decided I would write a whole song. Ideally, I'd like to be able to make a music video for my single riders song but that would require, not only shooting the video, but actually somehow recording the song so....who knows!

So here's my song. It's sung to the tune of the Beyonce song, Single Ladies.

All the single riders, all the single riders!
All the single riders, all the single riders!
All the single riders, all the single riders!
All the single riders...
You gotta split up!

Up in the park, it's starting to get dark
And you want to take another ride.
Check the times board, Oh good lord!
Test Track's got a 50 minute line!

Ain't no doubt, Fast Pass is all out
Don't pay it any attention!
'Cause you know what to do, when your family looks at you
Better get in the single riders line!

Well if you like it then you shouldn't need a friend for it
If you like it then you shouldn't need a friend for it
Just be glad that you didn't have to wait for it
If you like it then you shouldn't need a friend for it!
Oh oh oh..

Son in the front, Mom in the back
Dad in a whole other car.
Step right in, put your junk in the bin
Hand up while they check the lap bar

Big group on the side, hate to wait for a ride
Don't pay them any attention
'Cause you waited your turn and they gotta learn
What it means to take a single ride!

Well if you like it then you shouldn't need a friend for it
If you like it then you shouldn't need a friend for it
Just be glad that you didn't have to wait for it
If you like it then you shouldn't need a friend for it!
Oh oh oh..

I'm having a little trouble with the last part that's slow. So far I have...

Don't be surprised when you go and take a look
At the picture that they took.....

And I just can't get the rest. I have three months to work on it, though, so I'm sure I'll figure something out.
